I've always had a fascination for angels. This is their leader, Gabriel.

Upper body: Duke
Upper legs: arms dealer Destro
Lower legs: Wraith
Wings: Vortious cast of MU Angel
Sword and shield: Palisades Army of Darkness
Helmet: Tofu Jesse cast
Gauntlets: Wraith
Body armor: RoC NeoViper

Interesting use of parts. I always wanted to do the Morning Star, but never could find the right parts, nor translate the look of the wings into figure form.

And thanks for the kind words guys. :)

K, how are his wings any different from a "normal" angel?

Interesting use of parts.

Thanks. I wanted to move away from more traditional armor that angels are often portrayed as wearing. I also keep going back on forth on an idea I had to write Angelic "runes" all over the armor...I'm not sure I can do that at such a small scale with my often shaky hands.

He looks cool. Any chance of a Michael.

With the wings DSB. Pretty open to the maker as to what they look like. The Bible only states that the Cherubim and Seraphim had 6 wings each. 2 they covered their eyes, 2 they covered their feet, and they flew with 2. - Isaiah.
Only one other reference of 4 Living Creatures with wings and eyes all around and within. (they are assumed to be angels as well since they chant the same chants to god as the Cherubim and Seraphim) - Revelation

The debate I guess would be whether the Cherubim and Seraphim were Angels since it is not directly stated, but most feel they were/are.

I envision Lucifer's wings looking like a solar eclipse. I don't have any canonical basis for this, only my personal preference on how I'd depict him in a film/comic/what have you.

I like that KT. What a vision it would be for a split second until you had to shut your eyes. I never liked the Pan look of him.

Edit - I had forgotten Lucifer means Light Bearer. Makes that idea all the better.

Ahhh, o.k., I had forgotten how the Bible had described them.

I like the sound of that! You might be able to fashion them out of paper with any feathers 9if you want those) and then cover the whole thing with thin superglue.

It would probably be better to just do his wings in black paint and then PS the eclipse effect onto them for photos. Too bad there isn't a good 1:18 Roman legionary or I'd actually do the damn thing.

The problem with using a BF figure for me is I'm pretty set on him sporting Roman lorica segmentata armor. If I was of a mind to do a muscled cuirass then the BF figures would definitely be my go-to.

Just static figures.

Edit: I take that back. Unimax did a Roman action figure.......

I'm lamenting that figure because he comes with a Roman cavalry mask, for which I have many uses, things inspired by this included.

Plus it would look good in one of my cabinets of curiosities.

I've been toying with the idea of a Lucifer in angel form since before the Spawn boards closed.

You have a cabinet of curiosities??? I wanna see!!!!

And I know having JUST the mask probably doesn't help things, but you could probably make something like it using a Zartan disguise mask and then sculpting the right kind of hair on it.

Also, for anyone interested, I was at Dollar Tree yesterday and saw a Pegasus with wings that actually looked pretty decent....although Vortious offering is far superior.

Ohhhhh....THAT cabinet. Yeah, you did, I had a brain fart and thought you were talking about a 1:1 cabinet...which wouldn't make sense...if you were putting a 1:18th item in it...like I said, brain fart.

Pfft, I WISH I could do a real cabinet. I guess that's why I've got a 1:18 one. :D

I had one, but most of the stuff inside were just fakes that I either bought or created...most of it wasn't real "curiosities" but were natural stuff, animal skulls, fossils, mostly that kind of stuff.

I'm starting to remember more and more what I had inside of it.

Hand carved skull the wife and I picked up in Mexico...it's not life-like, more along the lines of Dios De Los Mertos (sp?). I also had a baby shark in formaldehyde, the head of a rattle snake with fangs flared, turtle shells, lots of animal skulls, one of the coolest pieces was one of those cheap shrunken heads you find at novelty stores. I made a wooden display stand and even sewed up the eyes and mouth with string and beads to make it look more authentic. It looked pretty ho-hum when I got it, but it looks much better with the additions.

But the wife doesn't like seeing tons of little things sitting around, even though these were in a closed cabinet so I ended up putting it all away. :(
