Cool! But that 2 seconds was a half hour of work? Just set up and snapping pics or does that include creating it too?

Is this how you're going to do the dio? If so, that's going to be killer!

I love me some stop motion. I still have ambitions to attempt a real one someday.

Stop motion is something that requires a lot of time, time that is often spent, working, playing video games, or doing anything else in the world. It's a reality I've had to struggle with for years.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I've been trained in traditional hand drawn animation and have experience with digital video editing. I'd love to help with any troubles you may have, I love all animation.

Behind a camera watching you!
Ya I did stop animation for awhile & it does take a lot of time & work.

Tips:
always use a tripod

Take a background shot without the figures. This will help fix mistakes if you have photoshop or other program with layers to erase things like a hand in the shot.

Use steady lighting & a video camera, still cameras can vary the colors from shot to shot.

Have patients

Have a plan, its amazing how much work goes into less than a second worth of footage. (Then you have 30 more seconds to fill on the video. :) )

You don't have to make 30 pictures per a second, take some key poses & the mind will often fill in the motion. Try 3 -10 shots per a second depending on what the final output will be.

I absolutely love stop motion. Back befor I had children and I was forced to become a responsible adult I used to spend my days off playing with my camcorder making stop motion videos. Back then my camcorder was basically a vcr with a lens , so it was a particularly daunting task to make a 5 minute video. I feel your pain brother , keep up the good work.

Looks nice and crisp.

This is all I did in HS. I remember, I did a 10 minute video for an art project with a couple partners and it ended up being just all of my work because it's the type of film making that's hard to incorporate a crew.

It was kind of like a subterranean aliens/predator story. Very cool for a 14 year old but I bet it didn't age well. It was at a time where everything had to be done with handycam film, karaoke machines, stereos, and VCRs for editing. Absolutely no digital or computer aided editing.

I kind of wish I can get back to doing it just because there's so much that can be done in terms of editing and sound engineering. Plus I can just take pictures and load them up at 24fps. But obviously I'd have to give up work, sleep, and possibly food.
