Yeah, it seems they increased prices to increase the bottom line, simple as that. Unless of course China suddenly unionized. 
I wanted to see if this was something that was just a Target thing so I checked Meijers prices last night when we went grocery shopping. They are always the cheapest around by a buck or so, and they had MI for $14.99. So this is Hasbros doing for sure, NOT the retailers.
The DC multiverse line was $8.99 by comparison. SW black was $9.99.

Yeah, I likely would have gotten most of the new wave. Now? Blue Beast is the only thing I have interest in, and even at that, I'll have trouble paying $15 + tax for him (that's $16.50 here!) WTF.
Not to mention their excuse for reduction in articulation. The reductions were made so that they were to stay at the same price!
Yeah I was really interested in a few from that new wave, Beast and Sandman in particular. But reduced articulation was already making me reconsider and now an additional $6? 
It seems the reaction at the other site is that this is Target only. Plus to discount the statement by an online retailer that it is for everyone. It's as if people there just live to argue against you regardless of the facts.

Daredevil is listed under that link, not sure if he is a previously released version or not. But with the series comming out it makes sense to get him in stores.
I really like the attire on this Nick Fury, sucks about his articulation. Are the two packs 4 inches? - Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Nick Fury Vs. Sub-Ultron 007 Figure Pack | Action Figures for ages 4+ | Hasbro I might have gotten him even with the 5POA if they didn't have his left arm out like they do. I don't want to have to have him lean on a railing every picture I take of him.

It's a travesty that the Scarlet Spider doesn't even have the torso joint. how is a spider-man figure supposed to get into any kind of pose locked in the chest?

IF he comes out I'm going with Professor Xavier on the "hard to find" scale. Then again, I nabbed four of those at retail.
Hell yeah. Many options for that figure. AND all would sell, I am sure of that. Collectors and Customizers would never let a version of him suited sit on the pegs.
There could be a different SHIELD agent in every wave. Or a suited Tony Stark. Or like you said, a different color Prof every wave.
Not to mention they could do a "Secret Identity" wave and use that buck or parts on some of them.
He's a spidey villain. What's better is the Norman Osborne head he comes with. I have one from the unmasked Iron Patriot, but this one look pretty good.
It looks like Norman to me. I guess it could be Harry, as they have the same bizarre brillo hair. But the previous Norman head was from a hard-as-hell to find variant, so I'm sure there have been lots of people itching to get that head issued again.
