Thanks Tie!! Much appreciated. The real credit for my dio work goes to Mandingo Rex and his tutorial on the insulation foam. Without that tutorial I would not be where I am at now. I have a ton to learn yet, but that is where it all started.

Cant wait to see your lights. That is exactly what my light is, dry wall things attached to a button with coat hanger metal. :) Buttons are perfect because the holes are way more even than I will ever get them to be. :)

That's the one that got me started last October, when I made that first building facade before jumping into the deep end with The Compound. And that is exactly what I really appreciate about this community, man: the drive to acquire and hone skills, and the lack of ego around here. It is refreshing, and inspiring.

Coat hanger, you say? Now THAT is something I'm going to try... What glue did you use? I used bent styrene rod on that one, and tube for the one with the LEDs because of the wires. Once I finish the display they're going on, y'all will see it!

I hot melt glued the coat hanger metal wire to the back of the buttons. The wire sticks out about 1/8 inch out the back. While tip of hot melt glue gun is hot and glue is hot I use the tip of the gun (I pull the glue stick out after applying glue right away) to smooth around where I glued like one would smooth caulk. I then tilt the gun so I use the hot cone on a flat angle to swipe the excess off. The pegs were used to attach the fixture into the foam for stability. Use a fat toothpick to premake the holes in the foam where you want the fixture. Fill holes halfway with hot glue and press fixture in. Once dry it is solid as a rock everywhere. You have to just not mind always burning tips of your fingers a little. I love hot glue, I have multiple guns with multiple tip sizes for different methods of smoothing and detailing with them. All have high/low settings. A low setting is a must when gluing foam, it does not melt the foam unless you sit it in one place for too long. Keep water beside you in a bowl and if you overglue a seam and it spills out, dip finger in water and wipe it like caulk with finger. It will ball and come right off leaving a sealed seam.

Regular white elmers dries strong foam on foam. So when I glue foam on foam I use the white glue, smooth it everywhere but dime sized spots (or relative sized spot to size of item I am gluing) towards edges and middle of the spot/side/edge you are gluing. Put small toothpicks carved for the right size to be like dowels and put them in the elmers glued spots of the foam. Use hot melt glue in small dabs on the empty dime spots to do a quick adherence until the other glue dries. This method makes the wall sturdy as hell in the corners at a low price tag and the little bit of hot glue makes you not have to wait for the other glue to dry around the dowel pegs before starting to work on the next detail.

Hope those made sense.

Your work is just fantastic. I have my eye on one already for the end of the month vote. The talent that has been dropped into this thread these last few months has made choosing the contestants very hard but very fun.

Which reminds me, poll for last month's PotM winner ends today in the officer section. (officers voting the winners now). Winner and story will be posted today.

My next project (the bike), maybe. Really would like one of those Contraband female torsos for the figure, and I should really strip the head and get it repainted, and do something about the hole in the back of her head.

Thanks guys! I didnt even think that pic would qualify let alone win! much obliged lads :)

I would have gone with Tie's pic - the Stronghold, his style is spot on for ARW, and the ruddy brown colours just work!

Here is some more shots from my "Walk in the Woods" yesterday :)

A Homage to my first ever PotM win! with the LMG and his hand positioned over the stock!
