Painting is my favorite part,but I know if I start I gotta have time or I'll be up half the night painting.
I only have 5 projects going right now.

I've already cast the torso I made,ultimate Duke legs(left over molds from my night fox custom),and his head..still need to make molds of the arms.

I have one half painted,just gotta finish it. This one was the prototype,and is as done as she's gonna get.

Just am not happy with the torso. I plan to remake it off Scarlett's buck very soon. KT,if you want some runs of that torso your welcome to them They need some work tho,they really weren't ready to be cast imo...some light sanding mainly on their back would be about it tho...don't judge it as my finest work tho! lolz. It surely isn't,but it's a decent base for nightcreepers.

Actually might work. I mean... I'd maybe have to re-sculpt the hair a little for hat use, but the face would be the most important feature.

I've shrunk a few things,and feel brave now...lol! I have yet to figure out how to dissasembe those fuckers..the upper looks like a one piece block? Idk,but it's very doable.
First I'm running a few parts for others,and making a mold of a Joe torso,but after this weekend I'll be starting on the 6" figure parts,after I figure out how to open her up that is.

I prefer the lower arm&leg fur style of the 4" figure,but the lack of fun bags kills the overall aesthetics of the figure imo.
I'll run three,cause after the mold fails there'll be no more of that version,I won't be making more. Like I said,I have a way better idea for that torso,and have gotten way better at modding/sculpting since I made that.

Long time no see, guys. Hope everyone is doing well. Customizing has been at an all time low for me since late '14, but since a week or two I'm back on track. Finished my fourth version of Jedi Master Ven Zallow, started on a fifth and just took on a commission for a sixth. I'm super excited how popular this character is and how people keep contacting me about making one for them. Every Ven Zallow I have made so far, has been a commissioned piece.
Here's a shot of version 4, all done:
Satele Shan has suffered from delays as well, but she's back on track too. Feet and hands will be replaced by more suitable ones and I need to touch up the hair a bit. Very happy with how she's progressing:

Thanks to Vortious, I now have a couple of Stocos' Sith Acolyte head casts. I've been asked to make such a character (a.k.a. Sith Lord Adraas) as a trade for the big Slave I vehicle, which I was looking for.
Add to that version 6 of Ven Zallow, which I will start with one of these days, as well as another Adraas figure. Then there's the dozen personal projects, which will remain on the backburner for a while longer.
And since I'm so good at starting projects, I have decided to make a custom figure of a dear friend of mine. For which I have just received a handful ofpussies pussycats (the Playmobil ones).

Those heads look great. I should have molded that balaclava head when I had the chance.

I'm really liking the realistic look of the BBi figures&heads,and have been trying to steel parts off them for these Shipwreck figures. Think I might copy ripcord's vest also,maybe put some bbi pouches on it? Idk,just tinkering between other projects..can't wait for the second wave!

I have a question for the sculptors on the board. Let's say you were doing hair, beard and moustache on a head, would you do it in stages? Like hair, then after the material has move to the moustache and beard, or do it all at the same time?
Definitely stages. Get each section/area "right", and let it cure before moving on to the next.
I agree, work in stages if at all possible. I get all impatient and try to do it all in one go and it's more work that way....for me at least.

I'm going to snag those pouches off her hips,and cast them separately,..I'm assuming the knife on the chest was just for show? didn't come out of the sheath? I'll dig the tab out,and cast something else to go there on the sprue..prolly ultimate Duke/Flint webgear sheath? Or resolute BH sheath? Any ideas fellas? I got an hour left on what's in one pot,so I'm gonna break her down in a little bit,and get her in one of the pits tonight

I had a carded one..yeah,I don't think there's a better knife to add there due to location/space limitations like you said. The peg hole is pretty small on the figure,but nothing the AV's can't be trimmed down to.

Well, marauder's new stuff is better. I don't like their folding stocks (I'm shocked I feel that way as well) and they need to update their blades and such, but they're getting there.
I still haven't found a solution to the 416 mag as I don't believe in real life it works with a standard stanag.
But yeah, they need new knives.
Something I discovered while working on my Joecon custom entry. Those small like hands, if you carefully slice between the fingers, they can grip a lot of items and look natural doing it. It's a feature I haven't noticed with most hands that Hasbro makes.

The 416 is designed to work with STANAG mags. Out of the newer stuff Marauder's done I still don't really like his 416, the others aren't too bad from that wave, barring some scaling issues and weird magazines.
Yeah I think I read it from some yahoo that probably didn't know what he was talking about (especially since it's quite clear as I'm doing image searches). The forum was about customizing your stanag to fit the 416 which they claimed purposely made it so it wouldn't work with army issue in order to force purchases to include their own mags.
Gotcha, yeah. That might be for some civilian variant or something, I could see that being something they'd do.
I will say that the new 4" a Black Cat is not a bad sculpt! The hair has some really nice detail!! the face is nice too!
