Anyone know where I could find 1:18th truck tires?

Yes, I've looked on eBay, Amazon and google, but I come up with nothing for normal looking 1:18th truck tires. I need to replace the ones on my Terminator resistance technical with something a little more off-road looking.

Well I've got a decently sized 1:18th truck, but like I said, I just need better tires.

What I mean to say is, at least the truck exists.

Hey Digler, I was hoping you might pop in.

Here's a picture of what I'm looking for. It doesn't have to be exactly like this, just close.

Heck, I'd even take a set of tires that look like the ones you used on your M.R.A.T.T.

Yeah 1:18 trucks are damned near impossible to find. I'd like to find a 1:18 '02-'07 Ram

Ok gottcha...the tires I used on the MRATT are PTE Buggy tires. I used the cockpit and the tires for the MRATT. I also used the PTE IFV's wheel/tire combo on the HEMTT and MRAP vehicles, and they do well. If enough people want tire/wheel combos, I'm sure daremo can start casting them or I'll even design one or two and he can cast them. I need more people to commit. As for now bob, I'd use PTE tires if you can find them...also have a good GOOD look at toys, just their wheels and they might work for ya.

I've got four M151s coming, Drop. Maybe their wheels might be cast if they show useful.

I was hoping not to have to cannibalize one vehicle just to outfit another, but I guess if it comes down to that...

Getting a set of tires molded/cast would be fine, but if there isn't enough interest, that could get pretty expensive just for one set for myself.

I wonder if such a thing exists on one of those 3D modeling sites but who do you look for such a thing there?

Actually, check shapeways.com. I think I've seen 1:18 auto parts.

I cast all my tires, but solid because I'm not that good at casting stuff. That does get expensive. Only a good castor can create these in hollow versions and make them true by using decent resin. Mine are full of bubbles and deficiencies that I can cover but a pain in the ass. I pay in resin about $5 a wheel for the PTE IFV wheels. So I would gladly give that for a good hollow one by a good castor. Make sure there are at least 3 types of wheels to choose from. I've thought about it since I've been doing scratch builds....wheels are the most important part of your vehicle. It determines the type of vehicle in the end by style, size, and purpose.

If you guys can find the tires that you want I know that I can make them in the urethane rubber that I use, and they'll feel more like real tires.

Have a look at the spare parts section of the Bruder website. The Bruder trucks are scale 1: but perhaps you find some tires fitting to your vehicle.

02771 MAN Fire engine with water pump with Light/Sound Mod.

Thanks for that link Klaus!

Someone on here actually turned that thing into a proper Dragon Wagon and it was aces.

More to the point, those wheels will probably work for you, Drop.
