They had the Voltron license too, and we all saw what they did with that at retail.

NOTHING!

If it fits in stylistically and articulation wise with my MOTUC and DCUC figs I'll be all over that line.

They need to just come out and say it. 4H is sculpting them and they're gonna be Matty Collector items. Apparently Lion-O images are out there somewhere.

They would have to be.

Without a cartoon, they'd need Matty Collector and FH to push them. Hell, even IF they had a cartoon, that probably wouldn't help. Look what happened to the revamped toon they had, and how their merchandise for it weathered.

I can't see these being a mass-market item.

Yup, the GB line has run it's race, and MoTUC is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Thundercats gives them a couple of years worth of source material to work with. I do think MoTUC-compatible Thundercats are a no-brainer, and I'm really surprised no one had the good sense to do them when Thundercats was last at retail.

Logical progression. Warner Brothers owns the rights to that one, too.

Huh. I coulda swore I read something posted pre summer 2014 saying the line was "coming to an end". *shrugs* No big to me since I've got all the figs I want, unless of course they rerelease the few I still want that are absurdly priced at almost (or more?) than $200.

Sounds like Thundercats will be a topic at the Matty Collector panel.

EDIT: and while we were talking about SilverHawks yesterday I was struggling to remember another cartoon in the TC/SH vein:
TigerSharks!

Okay:

Lion-O will be the Matty Collector figure for July '16. Mumm-Ra will be the sub figure.

Yup, I'm in on that TC line...IF I can even get them without signing up for their dumba$$ subscription. :grumpy:

EDIT: just had a peek at the link KT posted. The 2.0 filmation MOTUC look ama-za-zing!

Really? I thought they looked simple and goofy. I suppose they are pretty filmation accurate, but I was much more a fan of the early mini-comic look than the oversimplified details and ridiculously saturated colors of the toon. When I saw the pics, I was both disappointed and somewhat relieved that I wouldn't feel compelled to bother with them.

Thundercats though.... it's going to take all my willpower to resist, as they look great. If I thought they were going to put out the main cast in a sub, I'd sign up, but if they're going to string it out with D-listers and not give us Tigra until 2018, then mattel can kiss my ass.

I just hate how they play games. I want to buy figures I want, not have to jump through hoops, wait forever, and purchase a lot of crap I don't want just for the privilege of paying $40 (shipped) for the items I like. Scott Needledick is gone, but his legacy of bullshitery is firmly entrenched in matty's brain.

I question will anyone care about anything other than the original team, Jaga, Mumm-Ra (sure to be double dipped on when both forms are separate releases.) and the 3-4 Mutants of import, Lynx-O, Bengali and Pumyra. Sure, you need Snarf and the Snowman of Hook Mountain, but then you get into shit like Snarfer, Berbil and that purple bitch Luna. Looking over the wikipedia page and I'm thinking you're right, nacho. You won't see Tygra until 2018, if they don't kill it with third-string allies first.

Yeah, you're going further down the rabbit hole than I care to. Four main adults, two kids, snarf, three mutants, and both forms of Mumm-ra. That's absolutely all I want or need. All those others, even Jaga, are of no use to me. Aside from the main cast, the rest have the importance of cantina patrons.

I think there are a lot of guys in that camp. We'll definitely see, though.

I don't think the universe is nearly wide, diverse, or popular enough to sustain the MOTUC-like run of several years. Just not enough there, IMO.

Same with Silverhawks: five guys, Monstar, and maybe the loser Professor X/Nick Fury wannabe... "Stargazer".... IIRC?

Speaking of other possible franchises in the same vein... More obscure, but possibly more cool, would be Mighty Orbots. Matty has already done Voltron, so Orbots wouldn't be that big of a stretch.

Yeah, I really like the vibrant toon colors. Also like the extra hand articulation so he-man can hold his sword properly.

Right there with ya on all that, nacho. I'd sign up for a sub too if I knew I'd only be getting what I want. Guaranteed to get them at not d!ckhead scalper prices? Yes please! But I have no interest in figures I don't want just to make the line profitable for Mattel.
