Indeed! Very cartoony looking.
I love that combo of parts...except for the knees. I absolutely hate those dumpy things. I can't even look at his legs because of them, but the top half of Duke is stellar!

... an alternative for a classic version maybe ROC sgt. Stone legs or similar...
I'm not a huge fan of kneepads in general, but since most of my newer ME figures have them to some degree, I figured fuck it, may as well update Duke. What I'm sick of though, are the damned SE legs. They're literally on 3/4 of the newer figurers. The Firefly updates are slightly better (like on Flint), but they never pair the SE holster with the newer knees, and I'm sick of that stupid ear-scanner medical thing on the left pocket. The feet also suck, they can barely stand.
The Shock Trooper leg, I actually really like except for the lack of a leg holster. I prefer the kneepads on the Ultimate Duke (whose upper legs I stole for my Duke) but hate those unbloused pants, and the kneepads leave a gap on the Shock Trooper lowers. The only other kneepads that work are those gigantic ones that they put on the NF Falcon (I forget where the mold originated).

Those are all old. I need to get back to them. I also owe Fogger a bunch of repainted heads, too, heh.
From L-R, there's Sparks (simple kitbash with a Mouse head), Grid-Iron (behind Duke, along with a simply kitbashed Skidmark who is also barely visible), Comic Deep Six, beginnings of a new R&R, and 4/5 done Salvo.
Now you two are giving me a complex about my Duke! I was already miffed at parting out that Ultimate Duke for just his upper legs! 
He's definitely getting the iconic bandolier. My biggest dilemma is to go toon-accurate brown, or toy-accurate green.
But having additional webgear would be a nice option.

Now that's all I see,lol. Yeah,I'd have to agree. More then likely the original being blonde haired I instantly went to Duke,but now looking at it I can see Hawk.
There's actually a better head to be had if someone wanted to make a movie captain America. There's an 8.5" captain America with an unmasked head that looks like the actor. At least to me.
Im still waiting to see something using comic Andrea. that's a really bad ass looking head. It would be kick ass for anything from Zombie apocalypse Terminator,Acid Rain,or even one of Bill's dad Esteban's bitches:trollface:
Just got in an order from Marauder John. Talk about fast, I placed the order on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday.
Took a break from my Duke and Roadblock to finish up my Falcon since I got the webgear in that I ordered from MJ (specifically for Falcon). I know it's a shit-simple kitbash with a little bit of minor modding and some slight painting, but I think it turned out well.
It's a ROC Pit Trooper body, with Joe Colton arms, NF Falcon head and scarf, and a casting of the Falcon beret by TofuJesse. Originally I was just going to use the BBTS Falcon head and a TJ casting of the scarf, but I prefer the factory durability of the brown hair, so I just opened my spare Club Falcon for the head/scarf/backpack. The rest is Marauder John webgear, pouches, flashlight, and radio. Also showing my old Sunbow Falcon for comparison.

Really haven't got any ideas for a female custom at the moment, at least one that calls for a that head.

I started over from a mid point before something happened to the facial proportions..this one is also 2-piece,the correct scale,and most importantly 100% true to the original ML part

I sized it for Joe bodies,but it surprisingly looks good on a Marvel Infinate buck. I just ran the mold in brown to get brown hair. Think I'll take one with me,and paint it during the week.

Yeah, Duke has to have some basics for me to consider him Duke. And I never liked the cartoon coloration on him, either. So he's gotta have a tan shirt with rolled mid-forearm sleeves, a bandolier, green pants with tucked boots, and blond hair with a sorta cheesy Don Draper part.
And it makes me wish Marauder had already released the bandolier shown with their Valkyrie because I can't stand the 25th mold, and the more recent SE ones have too many grenades.
And Falcone, that's the reason I don't wanna use 25th parts. They all look too outdated to me. I think the Dusty legs and torso and the Mutt/Viper torsos are some of the few parts I still like seeing on newer figures.

Didn't get as much done on the weekend as I wanted. Anyway, here's some more progress on Duke. Totally repainted him, and still need to do a little bit of touch-up and detail work. Roadblock is next on the painting, I don't think he's changed. Also, included is my WIP Hardball and new build for a better Hawk (who will require a good deal of painting). Hardball needs some detail work, and a few more bits added onto him, plus I need to trim down the collar and add his head (not pictured) and ballcap. Hawk's going to require some sculpting, as I hate the 25th collar. May also need to raise his head slightly, and find other legs. I'm also considering 25th Dusty legs, or maaaybe some ROC ones. Not 100% sold on the ones pictured, but the existing ones won't require any joint sanding.
Next up, some more guys that've been in the queue for over 2 years, and some other newer ones. I'm the least happy with Downtown, as he's more or less just a "spare parts" accident (plus some Marauder webgear) but maybe I'll warm up to him once he's painted up. I need to figure out something to do with his silly wrists, and maybe raise his head too. I parted out my 50th HnR to make a Stinger Driver, who just needs new lower arms and some paint. I've actually got another one on the way to donate his arms to Stretcher. Subzero just needs some paint. And I'm sure Eddie'll see my Mindbender in the back. He's just a kitbash for the time being, but I need to fashion some gauntlets for him and do a little bit of painting. I'll show him when he's farther along.

Bricklink has hands. It's actually really clever. Not something I'd do, but it's outside the box.

Those are all looking great, MR. But gawd, those knee pads...yikes! And maybe it's the angle, but RBs head looks a tad high. I'm most looking forward to seeing him finished BTW...ya know, aside from stud muffin Mindbender. 
Yeah I reset his head twice. I think I'll paint it and see if that helps, but it was worse before. I wish the head was about 10% bigger, to be honest. But it's possible it is too high, kind of tough to tell 100% without seeing it all one color.
