I made the fatal mistake of turning to Lego last year and then Mega Bloks COD. Could have bought an awful lot of 3p robots for that loot spent.

That's pretty much me minus the last four listed. TF is really all there is for me, and not by choice. Everything else, if still being produced , has moved into "who in the heck is that??" territory
Transformers has a huge global following willing to put up +$100 for a single figure, so I do not see them going anywhere or straying far from the cash cow.
Thank goodness! I absolutely love 3P MP figures. The ingenuity of these small companies, and their willingness to make stuff that TT will never get around to is fantastic. It really is a golden age for the nostalgia-laden children of the 80's TF fan.
I should sell my Legos and buy all of the FT Dinobots and call it a day. Once Shockwave is in my hands, Sunstreaker and the Dinos are all my inner child needs.

I feel like him and Hot Rod look a bit too cartoony. Almost like something you'd see on TF: Prime.
Not surprised on the color, honestly. I was hoping it'd be less of a lilac violet and more of a deep purple, but that's kind of the color of the recent cartoon-based figures that I've seen. Waaay too light though.
I'll still be getting him and Hot Rod, but I'm not particularly excited for either as I don't like HR and already have MP-09, and Quakewave is a perfectly solid stand-in for Shockwave. Even the backpack seems better handled on QW than the laziness of this official one. The only thing more accurate is the shape of the legs, but those tiny feet are kind of awkward.

I've always hated Hot Rod with a passion for getting Optimus killed and stopped collecting TFs after the movie. As for Shockwave, I'll buy FT-03T and wait to see if Hasbro or a KO releases a dark purple one in a couple years. The ONLY way I'd buy that lilac one is if it had the exact sounds and lights as the original.
I like the Hotrod character just fine... I really prefer him to Rodimus (never as cool as Optimus). However, the new MP Hotrod just looks weird. The huge shoulders, long arms, and tiny legs just look way off. Almost ape-like. I want to like him, and maybe they'll refine the design, but I'm not 100% sold on him just yet.
I'm been watching too much geewun lately and came to the conclusion that Prime is never fighting. He is always trying to save something instead of just killing off the weaker Cons. Optimus is a horrible strategist.

I guess I forgot that the Hasbro SW came with all the tapes. I've actually considered getting the KO Ratbat and selling my silly black Soundwave, but it was a present, so I never actually paid for it. Otherwise I've always stuck to official Takara for the line.
Was Soundwave ever KO'd, or just the cassettes?
I have not seen a KO'd SW. The near identical MP KO's started with Sideswipe and quality keeps getting better as Tak Tomy's has declined. The two mix perfectly.
I got KO Ratbat. He is pretty nice.

I'm really weird about bootleg collectibles or movies. I don't give a shit about musicians with bootleg music or any other item, oddly. And I'll happily buy 3rd party or even resized KOs TFs or cast items of shit like Joe products for customs, but for some reason direct copies seem lazy to me or something when it comes to Chinese KOs.
I just think it's hilarious that Hasbro (and likely all toy companies) is getting rich off of Chinese sweatshop labor or close to Chinese sweatshop labor and then the Chinese turn around and bend Hasbro over.

Then I bought a pair of KO Prowls for customs. I have a KO white MP-10 because he fits better than huge old MP-Magnus.
Then I have a huge wall of MIB KO G1 figures. They look awesome!

I think I've seen you mention the bolded part before. Guess that's where I got confused.
I edited my post to reflect that it's only MRs panties that get bunched up at the thought of a KO. 
I would care if there was anything coming out from HasTak that I wanted. As it stands, there is little to nothing I want from them, official or KO. 3Ps are getting all my money these days, as they seem intent on producing stuff people actually want. No TT Sunstreaker, Hound, Mirage, or Jazz.... but we get Star Saber? Road Rage? Diaclone Police Lambo? GTFO!
The diaclone Lambo is cool. I'd get it and then the Sunstreaker one when it came out. To me, that's cool, and supersedes my nostalgia. Nearly identical decos with totally different transformations is awesome!
But while Shockwave is at least one that needs to be done, along with Tracks and Ironhide, I totally skipped Star Saber and never wanted another Hot Rod. Stupid folks whining about him got another spot wasted on Season 3+ trash.

I don't mind a v2 Hot Rod, as I like S3 characters... but I'm really not thrilled with the new Ape Rod. I'll be spearheading the v3 campaign
