A behind-the-scenes look at the setup of our current banner:

As you can see, there's only one full building. The backdrop is flat printouts and a big blue piece of card, flanked by white bounce cards to reflect light back into the scene.

That's insane! I would have never guessed the background was just painted paper clipped to a wall. Hmm.... I might have to try something like this if we ever do a scifi theme.

Its all fake just like the movies. It is nice to see how he did it though and will probably help me in the future. I knew that the back bldgs. were fake, take a good look at the pic and you'll notice they are flat not 3D. Still an awesome shot though.

Yes sir, the less I have to build the better. Although I am going to take a crack at a sidewalk that can tie into some of this stuff.

He is going underground and moving a few blocks, planting a bomb and getting the hell outta there. There are two pop up pieces on that part of the set and I knew I could get some use out of that. Remember its Tech Deck so the feature is really for skating.

If you're curious the night version of Firefly is on JoeDios.com. No one site gets all my pics.

Excellent MLos1. You did a really nice job on those pics. That 4th one is my favorite, he totally looks like he just got done battling in the middle of the nastiest fire. If he has that much ash on him, I wonder how burnt up his opponent is.

Welcome to the boards. We got another Pennsylvanian.

Shots like this are great to help teach us novices how to set up such great pics!

Thank you!

Thanx...i really like to use that ash for the shots...it's got that SAVING PRIVATE RYAN look to it...it's very bleached and fine, unlike some other materials that just look weird when you cover the figures in them because of the perspective...

The fine consistency of the ash is easy to wash off, and really fills the nooks and crannies of the figures and backgrounds.
