I thought about just buying a KO MP-12 (or repaint thereof) and doing a full wheel swap.
Thats not a bad idea. Though, $30 plus for wheels is a bit steep. Wonder what scale the alt mode is. Might be a better idea to just get a model.

In the SO thread, someone just drilled out the cheap factory wheels, and they look substantially better. I still like the idea of chrome donor parts from a KO, but they'd be more expensive and more trouble to install than just drilling.
The front wheels are each screwed onto a little bracket that snaps in place. They really don't roll at all... WTF Mattel!
(Yes, I know this isn't mattel... that was for Eddie )
My front wheels would spin too.... right off the end of the screw.
Yeah, it's a megatron in gun form, but I'm sure it's 10% smaller than the one we all have 20 of from shelves full of seekers. No doubt they made it slightly different to make it desirable. I can't imagine that anyone but the "gotta catch 'em all" crowd will double-dip, but it's still a dick move by TT.
I swapped the shoulder sockets when I got my V2, but I have no plans to transform him either. The original sockets weren't bad as they seemed to hold a pose, but the replacements are tighter and will likely not droop over time.
All the teeth-gnashing over this guy is complete internet troll horseshit. He's a great figure.

I just went for the KO ratbat. It's quality is questionable, but it looks fine, and it cost less than $20.
ARG!!!!!
I doubt there will be any KO Ironhides. With Tracks onward they have moved production to Vietnam. Has anyone heard of any KO Tracks yet?
Tracks: KO MasterPiece CP-25 Tracks,New arrival
Shockwave: KO MP-29 MASTERPIECE SHOCKWAVE,Box

Why bother buying official product these days? I can't tell my KO's from my Takara ones unless I look for the stamps in the plastic or I buy an unofficial color. My KO MP-10 is far superior with his fixed chest and metallic paint job.
Got Spinout today...finally.
Aesthetically, he's awesome. He looks so good. I don't have any broken or missing pieces and his paint looks really good. But man, he is a floppy mess. That head/neck/upper back area is, ugh. Since nothing really pegs in, everything is just, loose.
I have to fix that. It needs some kind of better, actually functional peg system. The wheels need improvement too.
XOC, do the shoulder assemblies need to be disassembled to get that improved range of motion?
Wow that is interesting!
Although why does Shockwave cost about the same as the real version?
Thanks. I'll check it out and see if i want to mess with it or get Omni's parts.
I did pop out the pin that holds the "neck" onto the arm below it and spin it around. It seems to fit back further much better and lets the head look down better too. It may be an assembly issue where some are correct and some aren't.
Oh, i also removed some material from the inside, top of the back of the legs. The legs were getting hung up on the crotch back there if i tried to spin them out.

Just transformed Ironhide. I'm in love. Only took 32yrs to get a proper figure and they knocked it out of the park.
FYI, Omni-designer said not to turn the neck around. While that does improve the situation a bit, he said it wasn't misassembled but rather Omni-factory cut corners on the part from how it was designed, leading to more limited movement. Supposedly, his kit of shapeways parts is going to address that as well.
