I've read it too many times. They don't know that theres an alternate torso transformation.

Sheesh, even I caught there was a way to widen the chest when I did a quick scroll thru TFW's SDCC coverage.

Do you guys think BC`s chest is mistransformed? I find it odd that the grill stays put, causing it to stick out so far. Maybe you are suppose to insert silver dollars between his hood and windshield to make him dance?

His hood sits closer to the body when its lower in the Hoist config. But when its moved up for "not fat" mode on Trailbreaker, it overlaps the windshield and sticks out further.

The more I look at BC's, the more I dislike him. First it was the legs, the knee area in particular. I really don't like how the thighs taper right above the knee. And I really don't like how tiny the legs are compared to the bulky upper body. Reminds me of the new TT Hot Rod.

Then theres his body. I'm getting a very strong Sunsurge vibe from TBs body. By that I mean it looks kind of incohesive. If you look at SS's backside, it's very kibbly looking.

But that's me not caring how perfectly accurate he may or may not look to the toon. Sucks to be the guys who can't see past that standard to what might very well be a better design. :trollface:

I like the MMC body better, but the BC truck mode better. BC has the better head, but the rest of the bot mode isn't as clean. Still have both ordered, but if I had to pick one, I'd likely go MMC.

Given that my TFs rarely see alt mode, my ideal figure would be a MMC body with BC noggin and weapons.

I generally pop in to post feedback on the figure, but that's it. No discussion unless I have questions or answers as to how to fix some error.

As for the height, it looks like BadCube's is as tall as TT's Ironhide/Ratchet. MMC seems to have posted a Photoshopped version of their two with Ironhide, and they're about half a head shorter.

That tiny amount though, when we're talking robot figures, can matter.

I just wish that the Ocular Max one was the height of the BadCube one. Honestly, looking at them, I'm still having a tough time picking between the OM and BC Trailbreaker. The OM Hoist looks like a cooler, more heroic robot, but frankly doesn't look that much like Hoist to me (I go by the cartoon, because I never have even seen the toy in person) and Hoist's cartoon model looked nothing like Trailbreaker. So I'm actually considering getting the OM Trailbreaker, and the BC Hoist, and just using the short/squat format for Hoist so he's not taller than the OM Trailbreaker.

Then again, that damned BadCube TB looks pretty damn good, still. I know nacho hates the second season guys, but to me they're almost as important as Season 1's Ark Crew. I never really had the chance to play with the year 1 toys as a kid that much, so I'm all about the cartoon looks.

The more I look at pics, the more I think I am leaning toward the MMC version of TB. He's a bit taller, the lower half of the bot is much cleaner, and MMC has a history of more intuitive transformations while BC has a history of making transformations as complicated as possible just because they can. Nacho don't play 'dat.

Unlike many of the "wars" that 3P-MP companies seem to have, this one feels like there are no bad choices, only personal preferences. I might still end up getting both, but when I'm leaning MMC and he's also $10 cheaper, I'm having a hard time convincing myself I need two.

MR, if you're getting MMC TB and BC Hoist, why would you need him to be in the "short" mode? Hoist would already be a tick shorter, and that's about right, no?

But yes, as far as I'm concerned, Hoist can go fuck a bucket of scraplets.

Per BBTS, MMC is 8", and BC is "around 8 inches"...

Per BC's fb page, their TB appears to be about a half-a-head shorter than TT Ironhide. MMC's TB appears to be about a half-a-head shorter than TT Ironhide.... I see no difference at all, but maybe i'm not looking hard enough.

Nacho, I read this backwards. I was going off pics I saw posted earlier. I downloaded them onto my laptop, I'll have to post them from there. I've no idea where I saw them originally, but it appeared that the BC guys were just barely shorter and MMC's was about a half- to whole-head shorter.

If MMC's is indeed taller, then that settles it for me. I'll post it and see what you guys think.

I don't know which one will end up being an 1/8" taller or whatever, but they're close enough that the height stopped being any kind of deciding factor for me.

Meh I guess you're right. While I actually do really dig the BadCube version, I think their Hoist is the superior option and MMC's Trailbreaker is the better of the two, just slightly.

TB I always liked being more of a badass. Hoist is, well, not. The way BadCube designed their Hoist, he does look dumpier and not so much a clone of TB as the MMC version. And having 2 completely different molds actually works with the way they drew the season 2 guys off different control art. Guess it's time to preorder!

When I said "eye to eye with Prime or Tracks" I meant literally that neither TB was ridiculously tall or short. Tracks has some issues (so I read, I wouldn't know b/c S2), but that's not what I meant

I mean, I don't follow any other canon besides the G1 cartoon. So... I'm perfectly happy to collect any of the Autobots from S1-S2 that turn into things that make sense. Powerglide's too goddamned obnoxious, plus he turns into a comically tiny plane, so unless Takara makes a really awesome official one, I really doubt I'll be wasting money on any 3P ones. Same goes for Cosmos, and SkyLynx. Goddamn, do I hate SkyLynx. I don't even think I'd get an official Takara SkyLynx if they ever stooped so low to make him.

I always dug Omega Supreme, but even if FansToys gets around to making him, I doubt I'll buy him. Skyfire is about the biggest MP Transformer I'm willing to buy that isn't a damn good Combiner. And I mean damn good... I doubt I'll be getting anything short of a Takara, or maybe FansToys Devastator, as much as I'd love to have the Stunticons, Combaticons and maaaaybe Aerialbots. As it is, Skyfire's already bordering on too-damn-big for my taste, but he's on preorder at BBTS.

I think this pic just sold me on MMC, if I can get non-chromed weapons. The grey legs help tremendously as does the chest and seeing them next to Ironhide makes me need one of them. Funny how I love Ironhide so much while certain people despise him.

If you ignore the guns/accessories and just look at height at the top of the head.... if there is any difference, it's minuscule. Maybe BC is an 1/8" taller, but there isn't enough to sway my purchase decision either way.

That one was the first to be announced, but they have been silent a long time. It might still come out, but when you don't hear anything for a while or see some kind of proto or paint test, or something for months on end, people start to dismiss the project. I cancelled my PO a long time ago, even before two better looking options were announced.

But hey, Spinout was released like two years after being announced, so who knows... but at least options do exist. Both the MT and TW versions look promising.

I'm excited about it. I love the movie... except for dancing junkions. It reminds me too much of the ewok celebration. Overall though, I can't wait for a high-res restored Blu-Ray copy of the movie... but admittedly, I like the S3 characters far more than you do. Hotrod, Springer, and Arcee are such the Luke, Han, Leia archetypes that I cannot dislike them.

Plus, they completely ignore all S2 Autobots not named Blaster and Perceptor, and that's good too.
