GOT IT! It came out really well. Would be better if he had some side to side torso articulation, but what I ended up with will do. Don't have time right now, but I'll snap a pick tomorrow.

Definitely classic Joes. If you do him dead, you could have Cobra Commander dragging the matrix out of his chest with blue shirts cheering him on. I found all of Mandingo Rex's Autobot base background last night on Seibertron.com (I'm going to print them out for my display like Nacho) that I can have my woman photoshop in if you green/bright white screen it.

In my blog post about TF backgrounds, I link to OTL's repository of cleaned up screengrabs that can be used for printing display backgrounds... in case you wanted something besides base interiors.

Transformers Backgrounds – TELETRAAN ONE

Google found you for me when I searched for teletraan 1 backgrounds. I saved yours, but need 8x2' and do want the interior w/o paying Toyhax $105. Was pleasantly surprised when I found the ones on Seibertron and made me laugh when I saw Rex did them. I'll have the woman stitch them together and then I'll order a vinyl banner from vistaprint for $40.

Yeah, I imagine that that wouldn't be too difficult. A slight downward angle? Any particular pose? Is he in any particular pose in that scene?

I don't have a green or bright white backdrop, though. The photography store down the street does, but I don't really want to buy one for this one "gag", ya know?

Thoooouuughh...

ProMaster Wrinkle Resistant Backdrop 5'x9' - Chroma-key Green - Backgrounds (Backdrops) - Backgrounds & Accessories - STUDIO & LIGHTING | PROCAM Photo & Video Gear | Detroit - Chicago

$30 bucks? That's not too shabby, eh?

Oh, also, by classic JOEs, do you mean the exact ones in this intro recreation, or classic as in ARAH?

I'm not as current on all thing photog as I used to be, but I try to keep up.

You can buy printed vinyl backdrops with photos or solid colors. Typically about $6-10 through ebay or amazon. But they all come from china, so shipping can be slow. I've got probably 15 of them - forests, deserts, water, sky, cityscapes, solids. All for photos of the customs I can't find time to do... doh.

I'd look at something like this - if I wasn't in a huge hurry. 3'x5', just $8.

9 Solid Color 5x7FT Vinyl Studio Props Photography Backdrop Photo Background LB

In a pinch, go to a craft/hobby store and get a big sheet of green construction paper. That works pretty well if time is of the essence.

Very awesome, but I'm still not 100% on board. Not feeling the chest and something about him looks too youthful. He also suffers from one of the same issues as MP Megatron: Urkleness.

That looks an awful lot like my tank Megatron with the narrow chest and young rounded head. Hopefully a level view of him will alleviate some of it? That angle makes the hips look wider than the chest.

Loving the strong clickety-clack of the ratchets and incredible stability of this guy. No problems balancing on a leather couch with Sideswipe in an extended arm.

I'm sooooo glad that new combiner designs have designed them to not have the thigh gab of the individual figures as the combiner elbow any longer.

That's what makes Devastator so good looking. Warbotron uses the parts forming gimmick to have awesome thighs, but Blast Off still has the stupid gap, Vortex is a bit better. Such a minor knitpick for a $120 MP scaled combiner made of silky smooth plastic, good paint apps and almost every mode of every figure is excellent that I don't even sweat it. Zeta's first 2 combaticons are such trash, I now worry about the Aerialbots. I understand they want a better combined mode, but damnit, I want to be able to pull them apart and have respectable figures. If you just want combined mode, then do what Playmates did with the new Voltron and give me a highly poseable and stylized version of Bruticus that doesn't separate.
