A member of Hisstank comissioned me to make Claymore. At first we were leaning towards an ARAH inspired Claymore, but we ended up going for a more modern Claymore, similar to what th POC run has done.

I'm happy with how he turned out, and more importantly, the person who comissioned me to make him is happy with him. :D

That beachead torso is so detailed with all the layers and textures it makes for great paint apps like this. Nice choice in colors to make all those details show. That thin area for the brown in the chest and shoulder plates is awesome

Uh... Pic #2 is a bit blurry. Besides that, there's nothing I can find fault in any of this. :)

Seriously though, it's badass. I still find it odd that Hasbro made that torso with all that detailing, only to cover it up. Twice! The same with Recondo. I imagine we'll see it un-covered somewhere in the JOE2 line, but I just thought it was a missed opportunity in the short-lived POC lineup. I disliked that torso until now, but you made me like it!

Great update. What head is that? I didn't see a recipe... *hint-hint*

Thanks, guys! I wasn't really sure how this was going to turn out when I started this project. Now that he's finished... I want to keep him for myself. :( I'll have to make another for myself now. Haha.

I have to agree that the torso has a lot of awesome detail that hasbro didn't take advantage of. They covered it up on both the BH and LL torsos. Not sure why they went through all of that trouble with sculpting all of that detail just to cover it up...

The recipe is below last pic ;) The head was "Unmasked Wings" w/a sculpted 'stache.

Great work. Using that torso without a vest like Beach-Head or Low-Light is really interesting... I've wondered what Hasbro was thinking when they came up with that. But your paint work is fantastic. Really great work on the head.

looks really REALLY good surprizingly...since i'm not a fan of that armored stuff they keep putting on the PoC figures...but you pulled it together very well...the paint looks absolutely amazing...you did a superb job on it...and not just the application of it, and the final finish, but the colors you used and where you used them looks so good...the cammo on the pants is outstanding too...really nice job all around...

and A+ to SDS on that headsculpt

Not a fan of the color you chose for the trousers. That orangy color throws it off, to me. I like the rest of it, though.

What are you using for skin tone?

Thanks, Eddie!

Yeah, I was surprised with how well this custom came together. The guy told me he wanted and updated POC stylized Claymore and gave me a bunch of parts to work with. I had told him about the "Unmasked Wings" sculpt being perfect for Claymore with a little work and he liked the idea. The head sculpt is perfect for Claymore in my opinion.

I wasn't really sure what I was going to do as far the paint scheme goes when I started him. I knew I wanted to use more subdued colors instead of having him all yellow. I also knew that I wanted to paint the armor plates green with some brown highlights to make him more reminiscent of the OG fig (green vest with brown pockets). The rest just kind of fell into place. I used Earth Red on the pants and the smoother part of the lower arms and was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out. It took me awhile though to decide on what to do as far as camo goes for the pants.

What are you using for skin tone?

The pants don't look orange at all in person. I used Earth Red which is about the equivalent of mixing Tan and Leather for a lighter brown.

I custom mix my skin tones as Model Master Acryls hasn't provided one that I like by itself. I mix Base Skin Tone Light, Tan as the primary colors and then mix in either Burnt Cienna, Shadow Tint and/or Green to get the skin tones I use.
