It also states that they're partners in the file card:

http://www.yojoe.com/filecard/92/dice.shtml

In the Marvel comics 120 thru 140 they popped up and worked together but so did many other Joes and Cobras and they never made them 2 packs or anything like that. They may have been partners but they were never sold together and Hasbro made 6 different versions of Slice while Dice has only one version.

Once the comic ended in 1994 the vintage line also ended. Hasbro keep making Slice while Dice was missing in action. Finally a Dice comes out and people are all upset he does not come with Slice. I am fine with Just a Dice coming out and like I said if Slice shows up fine but if not also fine. But that is just my opinion, if others want Slice than that is cool I hope he comes out for you guys.

I think it's because if they make a Slice/Dice, it will be a redo of the original two, which were a pair. If they're reinvented, then I don't see a need to make them a pair. But I imagine that they'll go off the original decos, versus any sort of re-imagining. At least, that's what people are expecting.

There's been some interesting stuff put out there, like the 3 3/4" Adventure Team. And Great stuff just on retail, Shocktroopers and the Skystryker come to mind... but they come at us with this shit? Come on!

I'm all for Slice and Dice!!! At least at some point. Ninjas are frickin' cool! Ninja Force was the crap back in the day.

Having said that, Dice w/out Slice is like Cheech w/out Chong, Corey Haim w/out Corey Feldman, peanut butter w/out jelly, cereal w/out milk, kool-aid w/out sugar, ham w/no burger... You get the idea.

I can actually feel the GIJCC's headache over Facebook. I kinda feel sorry for them now....

Just a couple things they've posted today...

Please - Do not ask any more questions about the Figure Subscription service. There will be no more information until the official announcement is made to the Club Members. Thank you.

We are waiting on information from 3rd parties. We cannot MAKE them respond on our schedule and so, we cannot give you a timetable. We want to give you the final information desperately, but don't want to tell you something that we are not 100% sure about.

I see where they are coming from, and as I said, I'm actually sympathetic...some of the threads on other forums are strangely vicous. But at the same time, The Club must have seen this torrent of anxiety coming from a mile away.

Eh, that's the game you get into with this crowd. You have to know what you're getting into. I would never even bother trying to please this crowd (and I know I'm part of the problem).

But yeah, must suck for them. The problem is, they've dragged this thing out so long, I don't blame people for wanting info. It's like when they start leaking movie teasers a year before the film is out. Just fucking wait until things are ready to show. I get wanting to tease, but c'mon...

I get what you're saying, and I completely agree. I understand the urge to make big announcements to coincide with Joe Con, but if you're not ready, you're just shooting yourself in the foot by forcing this artificial deadline. This day and age of broadband internet and forums, there is no reason to wait for Con, especially a Club that has its own newsletter to disseminate information....

A similar phenomenon is going on with the SK Omega line (although on a smaller scale). People are already predicting Death of Teh Line because of the amount of time lapsed between the initial announcement at the Con and the still-pending product release.

I do think the Club could have been a little more open forthcoming with info, even if it's vague. Dropping hints like "We just saw the painted prototype for our potential 5th figure...a great update to a well-loved Sunbow character", or "We just got approval from Hasbro for our 9th figure...and I guarantee most of you will love her" would make members and potential subscribers feel part of the process, and keep enthusiasm up at a steady simmer until the official unveiling....

the problem is, this is going to cost A LOT of $$$...and honestly, people want to know what they are gonna be spending all that money on...

that irritation coming from the club is the same irriatation everyone has with them...if they don't want to hear it, then they should keep this to themselves until they are ready to give out details...i mean, WTF did they expect?...calm blind faith handing over their money to a place that continually f*@#s up?

It is going to be around $345 to $360 shipped within the US. That is more than $26 per figure after shipping. They really need to confirm the names ASAP so people can start saving up to commit. I understand that there is still tooling, but they can still release the names without pics. As usual, the club loves to run in secrecy and hint at reveals at about 2 months before the actual event.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't commit to the Club sub w/out seeing all of the figs (especially the ones that I would want from it) as it would be too much money to throw out there in blind-faith. Of course, I don't expect the Club to ask that of its customers. I would think they would reveal all of the figs before taking orders for the subscription. Have they said when they plan on starting the sub?

is this is a confirmed price from the club? That breaks down to $28.75 - $30 bucks a figure. There Facebook page said it would not be $25 bucks each. It was thrown out there as a upper limit price.

My guess was $24 shipped for each figure after breaking it down so looks like I may be $4.75 - $6 bucks off.

yeah, but was that before shipping?

Don't forget, the Club may charge you $20 for the 13th figure up front and the shipping would be about another $65 to $80 to ship all $13 figures in the six month span. Thankfully, they will most likely combine the 2 monthly figures together each month.

they don't want that...how would they make money off of "shipping"...

i love when i get quoted for shipping, lets say from ebay for like $8....then the package gets to my house and the lable clearly shows that it cost $2.85 to ship...what a freaking scam and a half...<-----thats what the GIJCC will do, and why they wouldnt want a POL system...they don't to save you money on shipping, it cuts into their profits

sad but thru. They charged $8 on the RoC Cobra Commander with drone and I believe it cost them $6 or so to ship. Not a huge difference but I expect them to charge $10-$12 for the two figures they ship out each month when I have shipped many times 2 MOC figures for under $5 bucks.

Well they do have to pay for that expensive tape, box, and bubble wrap Eddie. And the time to wrap one! And do all that! It has to cost at least another... $1.75. ;)

(We're talking the eBayers...)

The Club just uses "hope" instead of tape to close their boxes.

Yeah, I think I posted it earlier, but when I got my loose DT, he was hanging out waving at me when I pulled him out of the mailbox. He was like "Hey! This box is caving in! Get me out of here!"

don't get me wrong I am excited about these figures but man the club is sure annoying the heck out of me and it seems others with all this secret hush hush crap. Also do you notice we are almost in September and not even a location or dates for Joe Con 2012. Am I the only one but maybe they have all there eggs in one basket with this club figure subscription. I mean come on dates people some of us have jobs and families we have to balance out to schedule and go to the convention.

In a roundabout way, the announcement of Footloose as the Member Exclusive lends some credibility to the leaked list....

cmderinchief

Commander in Chief
One tiny thing worth mentioning...I have see a lot of people asking about the mystery 13th. I think some are forgetting another item to take into consideration - the Club membership figure. It would make sense for all of their overseas orders to be fulfilled at the same time for this (most bang for the buck if you will). Slice may be the 13th or may be the membership figure. Then again it could be Footloose too. If it is Slice, it could also be sold carded at the con like Dial Tone.

Makes me wonder if they could be running convention figures right now, but it would be odd for the club to be ahead of the curve that early in the process.

Heh heh...just sayin'. Like I said, sure fire source...
