I was thinking there was another one in the modern era Joe lines. Thanks, Eddie! I know I have that one somewhere at home. I'll have to check it out.
I hate all the ROC jetpacks... They haven't really made a good "wing-less" one. I feel like something more akin to a Boba Fett or Rocketeer pack would feel more like a JUMP. I know that a proper jetpack would need some sort of wings to probably fly, but we're talking jetpacks here. I always liked that the JUMP pack had no wings.
Hell, just build your own Jump pack.
There's also the big thrusters from the Trouble Bubbles you could use...

It is an awesome torso, but it's based off of Zack Fair who is in the same video game series my avatar is (FFVII):

At least a fully-covered faceplate. That's one thing that could help to differentiate between him and Flash.
You could also just get some cheap Gundam kit (if you have a model shop nearby, something like a NASA ship could have cool usable parts) and chop it up and make your own. Glue it to some existing Joe backpack you've got that looks tech-ish and you've got your own scratch-built jetpack.

Haha... I was just thinking about an actual pilot helmet that would cover his entire face. I would imagine you would want one if you're flying through the air.
That's not a bad idea. Now I just have to get creative. I haven't dabbled much in making stuff from scratch and my imagination. Watch me say, "Screw it.", and slap a JUMP pack on him...
while cool for us, they seem way too clunky for Joe use...the first one could be cool if stripped of most of the crap save for the big round turbines...
Alright, Stalker has been repainted to the exact same Green that I've painted Zap. I'm not posting pics, b/c it's pointless as I've already posted the fig painted that particular green. I'm planning on doing the camo stripes tomorrow evening. So much green paint here lately...

thats not bad at all...looks lots more modern and stremlined...though if it were a bit over sized that wouldnt be bad cause its almost too slim, kinda disappears
I might could just use that jetpack since the Halo figures are on a 5"-ish scale. That would mean it might be just about right for Joes. It's worth a try.

Hmmm... I haven't really thought about a strap system for the jet pack. Gah... The vest he has now takes up a lot of the torso and doesn't really leave room for one without it looking overloaded. Maybe I need to rethink what I've used for Grand Slam. Or.... I could just say the vest has a built in harness system for the pack. lol... The easy route is tempting!
the easy route sounds fine actually...it would get kinda bulky...though hocky tape straps would be really thin AND have a cool texture

Looking good, especially that Beachhead. I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro hit us with that one. It's an easy repaint for them and it looks great.

lol... Yeah, the SE/Stalker torso is perfect for updating some figs and the Steel Brigade Troopers aren't bad either (especially their vests).

Grand Slam and Flash need headsculpts (I think I know which ones I'm going to use), and I have yet to start on Breaker, Hawk and Scarlett. I think I know which parts I'm going to use for the remaining 3, but not sure which head sculpt to use for Scarlett. I'm planning on using the Resolute Scarlett as a base and shortening her lower legs a tad and thought about replacing the Resolute headsculpt with the 25th pilot Scarlett head (swap the hair on them). The Resolute Scarlett headsculpt is definitely not going to be used.
I'm not sure when the remaining 3 will be finished as Gears 3 comes out at mid-night tonight and it will be taking up quite a bit of my free time for a little while.
one thing i'm not liking about Steeler that i forgot to mention...that RoC Duke head 
as for Scarlett, have you looked at Star Wars head sculpts?...they've got some cool hair also...
i hear you on a new game taking up all your free time...i've been there often...its really difficult to juggle all the things that interest you...plus a girl...

Yeah, to be honest, I'm not really loving the Tatum head. It still looks too much like Tatum to me. (Although I'm currently using the same head on my Grand Slam just so he's different from Flash, so I'm guilty too.)
Can I suggest something on the Scarlett? Use the Scarlett head.
The Resolute one is simply too pale, and you need to remove the hair, and cut a GOOD portion of the top of her head off to kill that melon-head look, but if you were to repaint her skin tone to a less-vampire one, and carve down that cranium of hers, I think you could make the Resolute head work.

Yeah, I'm not big on the Tatum headsculpt either. I sanded the jawline down and sculpted some hair on it, but only b/c it's in scale while most sculpts aren't. I need to find some generic sculpts that are in scale that can work. I got a couple from Raginspoon's site, but I'm planning on using them for Flash and Grand Slam.
I haven't looked at Star Wars sculpts to use for Joes, other than the Biggs Darklighter that I used for Footloose (like most people).

Actually, that's worth giving a shot. We'll see how well I execute it!
I worked on Scarlett this evening. I pulled her hair off, sanded the sides of her face and top of her head down, following the suggestions of Rex, then repainted her face. I also cut her lower legs where they meet the boots and shaved the boots down to maker her shorter. Let me know what you think:
I think it works fine, but her lips are a tad pale. Maybe a darker pink (although not red-red like her hair).
And while you're at it, what do you think about a more orange "red" hair? Maybe some slight color streaks so it felt more like hair?

All are great suggestions. I think I might use a different head altogether though. Even though I sanded the sculpt down quite a bit, it's still dis-proportionate.
