It is a nice looking choppa'. This is really going to be tough. Financially I don't want to but when looking at pictures I am tempted. Must.....say..........no.............

Hmm, by the sounds of it I'd say you're already thinking about cutting back on the stripper donations. If it makes you feel any better... I did put one on preorder on bbts. I keep telling myself, I can always cancel later!!

As long as people keep pre-ordering these things, it sends a clear message that we're willing to spend this much, and these prices are fucking okay. They'll never be within even a quasi-reasonable range again. But I guess for those of you that are pre-ordering them, it's well with in your financial wheelhouse. Sigh.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not upset with, or jealous of the people that have the financial means to buy these. For me it's more about principal. My perfect analogy would be a pair of jeans. Can I afford to buy a pair of $80-$100 jeans? Sure I can. Would I? Hell fucking no. Not when I can get 2 or 3 more pairs of jeans (that are just as comfortable and just as aesthetically pleasing) for the same price. The huge difference with the BBI Blackhawk, is that no one else is making comparable quality vehicles in that scale. So they've cornered the market, so to speak. Alas, there's the caveat. We ALL know what these should actually retail for. Even given the increased cost in plastic, labor, smaller production runs, additional figures and the upgrades it was given.

I apologize if anyone thinks I'm taking this too seriously, or too personally. I guess I'm taking umbrage to the pricing being dictated by secondary market, and being priced out of a collectible that I don't consider a piece of fine art.

End rant.

I have a wholesale account with BBTS. I'm going to see if I can get a better price. Not sure how much better but anything beats that.

Also, I bet they sit for a while too and they'll knock them down a bit but it may take a year. :(

Look at how many they would sell at these inflated prices vs pricing them even half as much. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot personally. They definitly won't sell as many, nor make as much if they opened production and lowered the price. I've only preordered because I had to sell my old black hawk (bbi) and I wish I didn't have to. But, I don't want to miss another one, so I'd pay inflated price but I'm only getting the one and no more. Either I buy one, or someone else does and in 6 months wished I had.

Could be like this guy, bought a true hero's blackhawk, "shopped" the logo and listed it as bbi.

meh, $170 dollars isn't so bad considering the small demand and high quality. It's around the price for those f-16's right? You can't even get a silly BF-109 for less than $80 bucks these days. Still though with inflated prices like these I'm thinking this hobby just ain't for me any more and it probably won't be until I've graduated and got disposable income. Thank god I ain't getting married, the black hole of money that is woman is the last thing I need.

so true, I could have bought 8 of these black hawks for the ring thats on her finger... and that was just the beginning. sigh

Suddenly after a few cars, shoes, purses and an endless wardrobe (hers mind you) later and the black hawk doesn't seem so bad!

Basic math for me really, a BBI blackhawk on the 'bay is over $100, put the time or Pickelhaube kit and it's more than the $170 on BBTS. I'm sure that's no coincidence.
I suppose I could justify it by saying I need it for pictures on CS....yeah that's it toy budget for CS.

ask my wife about the above statement, she can attest that I will not buy "good" clothes.

Once she bought me a pair of fucking shorts for $40 and told me they were on sale, AFTER I put them on and wore them, she told me the price. I flipped. $40 for shorts??? are you kidding me? shorts?

I'm cheap when it comes to clothes. I love me some Old Navy $5 shirts :D

There are better things to waste money on than over-priced clothes. If it's not a 3-piece suit you shouldn't be paying shitloads for daily wear.

lol...i want to see them make a come back :)

I wear an early '30s tuxedo with top hat AND spats when I want to feel classy while beating hookers.

Sometimes I go a little overboard using the walking cane on them, though. I think the long white scarf is to blame.

I sometimes listen to Taco's Putting on the Ritz and use a champagne bottle.

Antique furs are difficult to clean and can't be trusted to any old schmuck at a dry cleaners.

Went out to eat the other night (Outback) and a few drinks and a couple steaks later I dropped $75 there... the next morning I dropped what was left in the shitter. So out of that $75 bucks all I have to show for it is a nasty toilet ring and I'm down a few squares of tp. At least the bbi chopper will last longer than my last bm. The more I read these posts the more I'm glad I preordered it and since they have 45 left... I might just skip supper tonight and order another!

Having had then lost the other BH, I know I will be. I'm very impressed with their stuff and I'm looking forward to it. I just look at it as I've wasted money on much worse, so what the hell.

The Supa Cobura was the only rotary wing disappointment I ever had. I know I wouldn't be disappointed in the two large Bbi helos either at the right price, but 170 ain't fucking it.

I still like the new chopper. Hopefully I can come up with enough scratch and desire for one.

Skyrim CE is calling to me..

Skyrim must be giving you one massive chub (completly understandable). I expect to see a unboxing thread to show up of all the CE goodness!

wasn't just me, but my friend who has a store and wanted to make a big sale/trade through him and was just down the street. This guy is online only, and my friend is a B&M store, and told him he HAD to deal through the website AND have it delivered, 2 fucking blocks which would have cost over $200 shipping per his site.

My friend sees him all the time at the same damn post office every day as they both ship shit daily.

Basically my friend wanted some of the newest 2pack joes that were out at the time back around VnV, and was going to trade a bunch of vintage stuff for it. This guy wanted him to ship the vintage to him, he will inspect it, price it, and then ship him the stuff he wanted. He could have easily drove 2 blocks to the store, with his shit, looked at it all, and swapped.

That's just one of the instances. I had a run in too of the same variety when I wanted to buy a bunch of 1:18 stuff from him and offered to pay less than shipping but actually meet him AT the post office without having to actually box the stuff up, and he said no. he HAS to ship it. I was ordering over $200 worth of shit too.

Bitter? no.
