As long as people keep pre-ordering these things, it sends a clear message that we're willing to spend this much, and these prices are fucking okay. They'll never be within even a quasi-reasonable range again. But I guess for those of you that are pre-ordering them, it's well with in your financial wheelhouse. Sigh.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not upset with, or jealous of the people that have the financial means to buy these. For me it's more about principal. My perfect analogy would be a pair of jeans. Can I afford to buy a pair of $80-$100 jeans? Sure I can. Would I? Hell fucking no. Not when I can get 2 or 3 more pairs of jeans (that are just as comfortable and just as aesthetically pleasing) for the same price. The huge difference with the BBI Blackhawk, is that no one else is making comparable quality vehicles in that scale. So they've cornered the market, so to speak. Alas, there's the caveat. We ALL know what these should actually retail for. Even given the increased cost in plastic, labor, smaller production runs, additional figures and the upgrades it was given.
I apologize if anyone thinks I'm taking this too seriously, or too personally. I guess I'm taking umbrage to the pricing being dictated by secondary market, and being priced out of a collectible that I don't consider a piece of fine art.
End rant.
