3rd up is another thrift store find - got this for $1 - it is also a Lanard toy from 1986... If anyone knows anything about these Lanard toys LMK...

Does anyone know what nationality/design of tank this most closely resembles or is modelled after???

not sure, but I have the same naval vessel, only right now it is yellow and awaiting my paintjob to make it look closer to what you have.

These are The Corps! vehicles. Both still in sporadic production until at least fairly recently.

So this tank isn't based on anything real-world...? Just a fictitious design...?
Also what sort of attachment should be mounted up front...?

Yup. just something the team at Lanard came up with.

It's missing a few things, but surprisingly nothing up front, those are simply tow rings.
