Here are the questions that have come up for this round. We'll do the DVD question so we will have two others to choose. If nobody cares then I'll just ask whatever. I still don't think the 7 packs are worth our time but if you guys want them we can ask. These are due Oct. 3rd so I will send them out on Sunday night.

First 13 posts are the questions so just post the numbers of the 2 that you feel best suited.

Asked by Cloud Strife:
When will the release date for the 7-packs be announced?

Is there a theme for each 7-pack? If so, what are they?

Which frickin' figures are going to be in the 7-pack?

What happened to the variant Blowtorch and Crock Master? Seems they never made it to retail.

With Renegades getting canceled and the short life span of the previous animations, have you considered making 1 shot straight to dvd films? Many fans enjoy the Marvel and DC releases that seem to come out every few months. A GI JOE series would be a nice treat to the fans.

What was the decision behind taking camo off of the 30th Iron Grenadier?

I'm sure it was cost but it would be nice to know.

Renegade figures are coming with less than originally shown, aren't they? That could be an ok question if worded right.

I'm sure that too would be cost.

Was it your intent to to reduce paint rub on joints by retooling the joint hinges not be complete circles so that they do not rub the corresponding limb? If so, smart move! It makes me happy as a customizer. :)

I am a simple guy, and here are my simple questions.

1.) When can we expect to find Airtight, Sci Fi, Techno-Viper and the rest of that particular wave in retail stores?

2.) Can we please get a modern "30th style" figure release of SGT Savage? I know it's a stretch, but Savage has an awesome storyline and would look great in any GI Joe collection.

3.) Any future plans for 30th style releases of Ambush, Rampart, Salvo, and LT Joe Colton?

Thank you.

EDIT:

Just noticed this conflicted horsesh!t:

"Topics open for discussion –Deco Decisions, Design Choices, Design Product Development and Redeco/Retooling.Also, questions pertaining to past and current Strategy and Marketing.

Topics that cannot be addressed -“When will X toy be made/redesigned/released, Hypothetical, Sales/Cost Data, Product Idea Submissions, Potential Design/Redesign Future Movie/Entertainment"

WTF, Over?

Design choices are allowed for discussion, but questions pertaining to specific designs to be released are not?

In other words, I am allowed to ask when/if the new SGT Savage figure will be designed, but I am not allowed to ask when/if the new SGT Savage figure will be designed???

Hasbro's design representatives are synonymous with ass backwards stupidity.

As a side note, the fools redesigned the Skystriker after countless requests to make the damn thing. And all the while the bastards at Hasbro were refusing to discuss it in public, they finally recanted and gave in to demand from the fan base.

As my parting shot to the elitist idiots at Hasbro's design team, at least Mattel honored their fan base with continuous, steadfast releases of the classic series over the past several years (as well as the individual fan-inspired Fearless Photog).

Back a few years ago when the joe repaints for the Jurrassic park line that never came to light, were they to be crossover lines or two distinctively different lines just using the same molds? Is there any future to that line?

With the End of PoC is it safe to say we will not be getting Python Patrol Croc Master or the Green/Tan Blowtorch?

With the movie being released earlier does this mean that some of the figures from the 30th line get moved back to a later time or released in later movie waves?

I noticed that there is weathering on some of the 30th figures. What brought on that decision?

Well I figure we'll ask MW's question so I can quit seeing it. :p Other than that, I guess we could ask about some of the upcoming product. I almost think we ought to go after the Blowtorch and Cock Master variants but then again, who here really cares about those douches?

We could almost ask a question about why the Renegades figures look Clone War like when it was said they would not. Kind of call them out.

How about this question?

(file under back-handed insult/wishful thinking)

During the release of the Rise of Cobra movie figures, Hasbro produced some figures that weren't in the movie. Some, like Anthony “Flashâ€￾ Gambello were updates to older figures, while others, like Helix and Benchpress, were new characters that proved to be very popular and sought-after by collectors.

With this upcoming sequel, are there plans by Hasbro to release figures not directly associated with the movie within the GI Joe:Retaliation line, to appeal to collectors who, just as in the case of the first movie, may not care for the sequel and the action figures associated with them?

voting didn't seem to really matter last time so I'm not gonna waste my time

Actually, it did matter. Problem was, most of the questions that were asked they answered at SDCC. I mean, if you all don't want these we don't have to participate. I got us involved to ask things that may be different than other places but if nobody wants these just say so and we don't have to bother with it. At least here you get to decide. There was one question that I wanted to ask last time so I did. Each time we have done this we have used what you guys picked.

No need into spinning my statement into a "we don't have to do if u guys don't want to". Just cause I don't like the question selection process of last time, no need to but on your big boy pants and threaten the other 11 members.

Wow, MW. Bein' a bitch. :D

Still not gonna waste my time :p

my site can't seem to get added to the q&a list mabee i am not contacting the right people but if i could i would like to throw a couple of our questions into your hat, mabee you guys might consider one of them.

Question
Is there any chance that we will see any of the tooling used in the POC and 30th Lines be used in the G.I.Joe Retaliation toy line.

What is the status of the previously announced Kwinn figure, if it is not released as a single card, what is the possibility that it would be included as part of the upcoming 7 packs.

It's not that, coathanger. If there isn't interest in the stuff we don't have to do them. No biggie. It's fun to get questions out there but it's better when we do it as a site. Other places pretty much just take what they want. Last round most of the questions were answered. We got a lot of the answers at SDCC. That's why we just pulled out a couple of other ones. Pretty simple. You're getting your question in and it would be nice to see what other two you all want, that's it. All I do is try to word it the best possible way and send an e mail.

Not putting on any attitude. Just stating the obvious. If there isn't interest in asking questions we don't need to do it. It probably wouldn't be missed if that's the case. Call it what you want. We were given the chance to participate and it's nice to because here is a little different of a view of what people may want from the line.

I have tried for 3 days to come up with questions that I genuinely cared enough to ask. It's just still waters right now around Joe Island, without a lot of promise in either what's going to be released in the near future (biggest issue), or what answers may be divulged based off the questions asked (regardless of how good the questions are, or how craftily they're worded).

Le sigh.

I agree, MR. Any question that I am remotely interested in, 10-1 Hasbro won't answer. Even my own question (#13), I wouldn't bank on them answering as it deals with future releases, blah blah etc. (Although there's a small part of me that hopes they read it and think "fuck it, let's sneak a couple more non-movie figures in Retaliation line to keep those whiny fanboys off our backs for a minute.")

I kind of like that cancelled Jurassic Park question, not because I have any interest in the canceled line, but because now I am curious if the stuff showing up on eBay are customs posing as prototypes. And since it deals with the past, it's probably a question that Hasbro would answer.

I'll vote for mine (#13). :D

Questions #2 and #9 (both concerning the release of the variant Croc-Master and Blowtorch) can be combined, and probably would be a question that Hasbro might answer (since they already said they would be released, and they're not "new designed" figures per se) so that would get my second vote.

I'm curious about the 7-packs, but I figure at least half the other sites will ask about that, and I doubt Hasbro would use this Q&A's as an opportunity to announce details about their release.

edit: By the way, MB: feel free to reword my question to be slightly more "tactful."

Bingo.

I just wish the people at Hasbro would quit taking their anger and frustrations out on the GI Joe fans.

The thing that really pisses me off is that Hasbro/Paramount (Bonaventura, Sommers, Hama and the rest of the assholes) told everyone to go F themselves while producing/pushing the ROC disaster, and then when ROC was revealed as a REALLY BAD MOVIE with toys that DID NOT SELL WELL....

Well, they again give everyone the middle finger by refusing to answer for their behavior and INSTEAD DRIVE FORWARD with losers like Bonaventura still on board for ROC II.

Einstein was right. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.

Had the stupid bastards at Hasbro/Paramount Incorporated actually considered what the fans like (as was the case with Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" series, and Sam Raimi's "Spiderman" series), I am confident the GI Joe movie and toyline would have done better than that damn Globally Integrated Joint Obamanista Entity horseshit they foisted onto us as the audience.

Hey Hasbro, quit acting like Judge Smails and get back to the fundamentals of customer/business interaction, ya pricks!!!

Anyone oppose to asking about what made them decide to do weathering? I'm sure most other places will cover the basics on "why isn't this out?" or "will you do more ARAH?". At least that seems to be the general hoopla.

What did they supposedly weather?

I have it on my Hazard Viper and the Steel Brigade I opened. They threw a lil' dirt on it. Seems to be hit or miss with figures. Still, would be nice to see more. I was thinking:

It seems that a few figures have gotten a little "weathering" treatment and actually makes the figure look much better. If this is the case what prompted that decision or were they just errors?

MB, I can't say I'm against the question, but at the same time I'm not for it. To me it seems like a pointless question. What can they really answer to that, that they like drybrushing?

I'm interested in my Q from a month or two ago about the bootlegs versus the customs, as well as a question about the priduction numbers of the arah flagg, or better yet what the original dimensions would have been(they planned to makeit bigger, but wasn't justifiable so they made it smaller to 7.5 feet.

Well they won't disclose production numbers. I've tried a million times. As for bootlegs, they have nixed that in some questions before if I remember correctly. They don't like to drift there probably because of legal mumbo jumbo. I think we even brought that up at SDCC to John Ward. I'll have to ask NSA.

The only reason I was going to ask the weathering really was to see what the decision behind actually doing it was. Everyone else really is focusing on all the other stuff that only matters to fan boys. I'm open to suggestions though. That's what this is for. I rather we all agree on what is going in there.

*looks at Hazard-Viper*

You must be referring to that miniscule amount of airbrushing on the lower legs.
