Does anyone have this BBI Weapon Set?

The reason I ask is b/c I'm wanting to see the scale of the ammo belt compared to a Joe. If you can post a pic of a Joe with the ammo belt it would be greatly appreciated. Preferably wrapped around the figure like in this pic:

It's a .50 BMG belt, so it'll probably look ridiculous.

The best in-scale belted ammo I've ever seen comes wit the original Kaiyodo Jin-Roh Protect Gear figure.

The figure isn't 1:18, but it's belt of 7.97x57 is the best small scale ammo belt there is. The Revoltech version also came with an ammo belt that is good scale-wise, but isn't as finally detailed or flexible.

You could always order 1:16 brass loose ammo for 1:16 R/C tanks, though.

Top is the Kaiyodo Revoltech Red Spectacles Protect Gear version, disintegrating metal links. Good detail, but the paint is sloppy and there's some mold flashing on it.

Bottom is the Kaiyodo Jin Roh Protect Gear, looks like it's supposed to be fabric belted, like the Americans used.

I'll get pics of them on a figure after the battery recharges.

It definitely flexes better. The Red Specs one really suffers from lousy paint.

I'd love to see the J-R one cast.

The Jin Roh definitely looks better and if it can be casted, that would be SWEET!

Thanks, ahead of time for taking a pic of it on a Joe!

S.E. Mich :(
they seem a hair large, but definitely workable...IMO

is it my imagination, or is the red spec belt a tad smaller K-T?

Holy crap, man! That's what I need! I don't think I'll ever be able to get them though as I definitely can't justify buying an expensive figure just for the ammo belt, and not to mention that I need 2... :( RAGINSPOON!!! You're my only hope!!

The rounds on the Spec belt are indeed shorter. Scale wise it's better. These are from 5+" figures, so it's amazing they work at all.

Do well in the Marauder MG 34, too. ;)

Yeah... I know. I regret it every time I start looking for proper ammo belts to use for customs. Back then I was into customizing SW figs, which didn't turn into modern military unril the 25th Joes showed up.

Live and learn.

It looks like G.I. Guppy the Third is offering some cool realistic weapons, grenades (concussion, flash bang, etc...), and other accessories on Shapeways (a site that you can upload the specs of designs and they make them for you and sell them). I posted this here, b/c he's planning on doing some more accurate ammo belts for 1:18 scale figs, including some for RnR!!! Here's a link to his profile on the site.

Well the 12 pack of bottles is interesting. I do need some for the lush's in my squads. :D Some prices are ok but a few seem a little bit higher. Not sure how that site does pricing if they have a mark up or what?

He's trying to work around the prices. Apparently, the site charges a flat fee per item ordered. That's why you see some clustered together that you have to separate on your own. He's noted on some of the items that come by their self, that if you contact him directly, he can get it to you at a cheaper price.

In any case, until some of the items (concussion, flash bang, ammo belts) become available elsewhere, it's definitely a good place to pick up some much needed realistic accessories, IMO...

Yea, at least he has some parts others are not offering. Something to keep in mind if a project arises. Do the items come in those colors?

The ammo belts might be interesting. I'm gonna be hard to impress after experiencing what the Japanese managed with those.

I believe so. Not completely sure, as I haven't ordered anything yet.

I like the Japanese ammo belts as well, but I'm definitely open to a more readily available and cheaper substitution, and something more accurate than Hasbro's.

Exactly.

Also, MAJOR BLOOD, I've asked him for a pic of what they look like before painted. I'll post it here if he responds with one.

MB, he says they are casted in a clear plastic. So, they'll definitely have to be painted.

He also has some more stuff up, including head sculpts.

Thanks Strife. Hope to see something that he makes. Then I can pass judgment with a little less conscious.

I plan on getting some of the stuff in the near future. I'm definitely getting the Remington shotgun for my Flint custom and some of the 'nades. I might get the Baroness head sculpt too.

Well, I just figured out that if you click the little cube to the right of the images it will give you a full 3D view. There isn't a spot for the neck-ball joint.

Well, I finally purchased the BBI weapon set to see if the bullet belt was a good scale for a 1:18 RnR custom:

In my opinion, it works better than anything else offered in the scale and will work great for going around RnR's chest like they do in his original design. The downside is that the bullet belt is only long enough to cover a little over half of the torso, when going across his chest with it. So, you'll need multiple pieces if you're wanting to use them for this purpose. If you're just wanting to use them to showcase bullets being fed from a SAW ammo case to the chamber of the gun, you can cut multiple pieces for multiple guns to be used in this manner.

I'll try and post pics tonight.

The problem is he's running around with a belt of .50BMG about his chest. ;)

I still say the Kaiyodo Jin Roh belt is the reigning champeen.

I know, I know, but until someone provides a better alternative, It looks close enough in scale that I think it works. You may already have it and have tried it, but I'll take a pic tonight just to show what it looks like.

Haha... Are you just trying to rub your Jin Roh belt in? If you want to hook me up with a few, I would be happy to take them off of your hands :D!
