The noks made the comic, nice. Was that some opium based grape soda, That conversation reminded me of Revenge of the Nerds 2 when ogre said, What if c.a.t. really spelled dog. Great stuff bro!
Thanks, man! I like these dialogue-driven ones where it's just characters talking about meaningless bullshit due to the soul-crushing monotony of their day-to-day lives, like something out of a Kevin Smith film, only substantially less amusing. I had planned some Clerks-style Cobra strips more than a year ago and never got around to using them, so I think I'll bust them out some time soon. At least one of them, anyway.
What I had planned was that the dialogue would always be between the same pair of Cobras (like a Viper and Siegie, or something), and we'd see them doing different tasks while absentmindedly talking about unrelated stuff. You know, breaking into a defector's apartment and killing him while chatting about the sex appeal of Disney princesses, or something.
The lunch story with the hot dog is probably the only decent example, but in that one, it's just talking heads and no action. Alright, so less Tarantino and more Clerks. Not that that's a problem.
Not to sound all heavy-handed or anything, but I've already written the script that I'll use for the final comic. Not that I want to end the series at all, but I just wanted to have a plan for when when I eventually (and grudgingly) need to announce the curtain call due to life-situation changes/injury/collapse of society/having to go into space to fight evil in my mech/etc. I wrote it years ago so I'll obviously need to tweak it, but the script for the final issue is a dialogue one, rich in send-off messages and bits that can be interpreted however you please. No explosions or anything over the top, just a calm, quiet goodbye. Going out the way it started - keeping it simple.
Okay, that wasn't exactly the direction I wanted to take this post. Goddamn it, I crapped all over your reply. Sorry, man.
