Wearing their new multi enviroment digital organic BDU's (Did I cover it all): Jesse, Duke & LL are gearing up to embark on a mission to take out a stratigic point of look out on a ridgeline where enemy snipers have been known to fire from. If successful this will serve as a perfect location for LL to have a clear view on the other side of the ridge to take out large numbers of the enemy.

Great work Rick.

Are you going to make a custom of Demo-Dick Marcinko?

Thanks guys.

rds outside of doing a google search for SEAL combat uniform images, I asume the images are fairly correct. Then I ask and appreciate clarification from you active and retired or just plain knowledgable guys out there to set me straight.

I'm just playing with my toys.

Thanks Med, I used a sponge. Cut to the length of knee to ankle about 1/4 inch wide. I'll dry brush the paint on kind of so the cells don't get filled, since that is what creates the pattern. The cells tend to be eliptical so I apply it so the shape is east to west, then lightly dab.

Here's Jesse's bio:

The newest member to SEAL Team 6, James O'Brien is a modern day cowboy. He would probably be a Texas Marshall chasing criminals on horse back. Born and raised throughout the southwest. His specialty is urban Commando close quarter combat. He is ambidextris and wears his side arm on his left hip and has engaged several enemy combatants simultaneously shooting out of both hands.

His team members nicknamed him Jesse after Jesse James as he loves to go in first guns blazing.

Dre, I think I'm going to add one more team member. I'll give Duke an M4 with the M203 grenade launcher and add a SAW gunner to give a well rounded equipped 4 man team. Maybe Shipwreck since he's a Navy boy

Eddie it's funny this team came about by mistake. I was actually doing research some Unimax customs and came across the shot of the SEAL (I think) coming out of the cave. I said to myself I had to make him. Then next thing I knew I was making a team and put everything else on hold. He's my fav to.

More great figures! is that a pair of gloves strapped to LL backpack? Where did you find those? Or did you sculpt them? Sweet detail! :D

Excellent work Rick. Which vest is that on Jesse?

That vest came with Duke. The version I don't know, but he is outfitted like a pmc or desert spec op. Has sneakers, gaiters and knee pads. It goes well with that Duke and it was tough taking it from him.

Here you go:

First I cut a piece of sponge off at the size I want. Do a base coat first.

Then dry brush the first color on. If to wet then cells will fill cutting down the smaller dabs of pattern.

Say hello to Buzzsaw

Then dab. I do it with the eliptical nature of the cells so they are horizontal.

Then repeat for the second color.

Then I'll go over it again with the first color as it is a dominant color like the green. Brown, the second is the minority color, so this helps bring the proportion to what I want.

That's it. I'm sure there is a more refined process, but this is what I did.

I use a stiff bristle brush to create my digicam looking camo...I have been toying with the idea of cutting some "rubber stamps" here at work using rubber erasers and our laser etcher...thinking I could get exact squares in random size and patterns on a section and the lightly paint the stamp and stamp the figure...thoughts?

Rick - of course I think your figures are sweet - by the way. :D

I think the concept has potential.

Awesome work dude. So I heard a story of why they called themselves team 6 (not sure if this is true). Apparently, when team 6 was created, there were only 4 teams. They called it team 6 rather than 5 because they wanted the Russians to think that there was a whole other team that they had no idea existed. Cool.

^ Sounds believable. We did some ridiculous stuff to try and fool the Ruskies. Of course they did the same thing.

Woulda been better to call them team 666 bc they make me damn proud to be an American. Of course, when I heard the news about Bin Laden, I thought Chuck Norris got him and then flew away on his motorcycle.

Barry Bostwick led MegaForce, Chuck Norris lead Delta Force - are you implying they worked together on Operation Geronimo? :D

AND maybe there is a Team 5 - even more secret and better operators than Team 6?

You used a sponge on figures Rick? Now that's impressive! What kind was it? I always use the coarse end of one and I can't seem to get the patterns that small. That is just all kinds of cool. Well done!

I just saw slaymakers post and that sounds very interesting. I'd love to see if that stamp method worked.

If I can find some time to get a protoype made here soon...I will let you know. Doesn't seem to hard in theory...just need the time to mess around and try it. With 2 boys in Elementary School - I have all sorts of erasers lying around.
