According to a statement made by BBI on Facebook they're apparently making new improvements to the landing gears of the F-18 upon release. The improvements supposedly will help add much needed strength to ensure it sits right if displayed with landing gears down.

I don't know who told you aussies don't like peanut butter.

I love peanuts. I love the peanut butter. Once this crisis has abated, I will lay down the powers you have given me!

Frank told me.

US-made PB might be different to Aussie-made PB? Or maybe the're allergic to peanuts and they don't know it?

The one thing I wish was more widely available here is Pop Tarts. Very few candy stores sell them in my area, and a very limited range even.

Man, they even put Pop Tarts (well, some manner of toaster pastries) in some of the MREs.

Wonder if a box of Pop Tarts would survive the trip to Oz? Don't see why it shouldn't. Definitely wouldn't send them surface freight.

There's a place in Queensland (Provost's neck of the woods) called LollyWorld (http://www.lollyworld.com.au/) that sells Pop Tarts online. I've ordered from them before. A bit pricey due to the markups, but totally worth it.

Atleast the Aussies are smart enough to put pop tarts in the candy aisle and not the breakfast aisle.

Heh, breakfast of champions!

We should all send Fled Pop Tarts for Jesus Day.

I guess that makes sense since they have all the money in the world and even our jobs. I mean who wants to sell to a nation whose over 11 trillion dollars in dept. Which makes me wonder a bit, how is the 1:18 market in Asia compared to the rest of the world?

F-22 by Bbi? Not likely. Never say never, though, I guess.

I wouldn't bite on a 22. I'm one of those weird "if it's not an A-10 or 4/4.5 Generation Russian fighter I don't give a damn" guys. Though I agree with Midget that a Harrier would be the tits.

Much more rotary wing/ground centric.

Oh fair nuff of course - to each his own.

I was fed on the TOP GUN and ROBOTECH diet so the F-14 also is a fave.

Also the SR-71 was a fappable plane for me.

But I love anything that flies from AC-130's to Caribou's to Apache's.

Just like the "mean yet sleek" look of the F-22.

That's probaby true, PCS.

Dunno, I just can't get into the design aesthetic of the Generation 5 jets. It may be that their actual combat service will be nigh non-existent.

More news in from yesterday over at Badcat....

This from BBI USA on 3/5/2012:

"Dear BBI Dealers,
We are officially announcing that the F-18 C VFA-86 Sidewinders in 1:18 Scale are being placed into production. More details about this item are to follow. Also, please note that we are not accepting any pre-orders at this time.
It comes to our attention that there is a F-18 image with our logo circulating around the web. This image is neither the actual bbi product nor is it the official photo. Any photo or information not provided by our office has not been approved by us."

It says that's exactly the squadron they're doing. The circulating photo just isn't theirs.

Aaactually they charged the same for the MH-60 that they did for the F-16 re-release.

Pics of it up at Badcat as well as on BBI's Facebook page. I don't think this one is for me, I don't really like one-off / CAG schemes for fighters and the jet exhausts are just plain embarrassing.

I kinda agree.

4 bombs, 3 drop tanks and 2 missiles. Couldn't we get something like these?:

Yeah the loadout is pretty miserable. 2 Sidewinders and 4 iron bombs, right out of the 80s. At least put AMRAAMs on the fuselage stations.
