Actung! it's der Red Skull!

Nicely stylized Nazi/Hydra uniform, hoping we see some Hydra goon figures early on, instead relegated to IM2 Drone late wave syndrome.

Those thighs look like they're Joe-style.

I'm not too hot on it. Maybe after i see it in person, though.

You're not? I don't like that he's got a solid torso, and I'd replave the head with a better looking skull. It's a good base at least.

Eh, i like my RS anachronistic, with a devoted fanaticism to National Socialism that would make Hitler pause.

I agree. It's no fun if he's not uber-nazi numero uno. The body is a better base than the RoC Destro body- that one was always too big to my eye. Crossbones was the muscle, RS is just evil. Skinny, but very very evil.

My Standartenfuehrer Vogel never materialized so my Red Skull/Lance of Longinus never happened.

I still have the skull somewhere, so theoretically i could slap it on the movie RS figure, it just won't be as cool.

Different designers across the different lines I gues. You'd think these, Joes and MU would just use the same construction though. I kind of understand why SW construction would be required to be different by Lucas Films.

I think Lucas has say in what goes on with the SW figures.

Not sure why MU and a Marvel property movie line wouldn't have similar articulation.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Wasn't that why it took so long for the t-crotch to go away?

It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to have four different Marvel properties out with action figures in this scale, and all four of them have differnet articulation styles. Granted, there's not a whole lot of standardization within the MU line.

I think the only 1:18 Hasbro does that get's treated with any kind of design consistency is Joe. About the only differences you get there is whether or not a figure has the new wrists or just swivels.

It bugs me that I have a red Hulk and Green Hulk that have vastly different styles of articulation than the World War Hulk, Thanos and Thing. They really don't look like they're from the same line.

See, that's ridiculous, and the SW line is even worse.

He would if he could move his arms and legs. Thing has taken over in the "SMASH" department in my colection. He's currently clobbering the Juggernaught.

So i shouldn't bother to go looking for a good 1:18 Hulk because there isn't one?

I saw a statue of the character that was bad ass hell, but i don't think the figure quite lives up to it?

EDIT:

Yeah, it's the helmet that does it. If the figure came with a helmet i'd probably be on it like stink on cheese.

No, the WWH figure is pretty awesome. Very articulated and well sculpted. It's the other versions that are essentually moveable statues. They have articulation, but it's not very uesful do to the design.

Well, i was referring to a stature i saw recently that i thought looked good, mostly because it had a helmet.

I went looking and found that what i want is a Planet Hulk as opposed to World War Hulk.

They'd actually rock together. Some bad ass outdoor shots could be had of those two throwing down.

Even now, Star Wars figures have all over articulation. The Clone Wars line doesn't count because it's aimed at kids and they need the playability. Heh.

The Vintage Collection is one of the first to have a pretty standard articulation on almost all the figures. The Legacy Collection was notorious for having wonky articulation. Some figures would be super articulated, while others (who would need the SA) were missing ankle joints.

For the Marvel Universe figures, the initial molds seem to have been a learning curve for Hasbro. They've adapted some, and upgraded certain style mold that need it. Thanos and WWHulk come to mind for sure. Now, if they'd only do something about that god awful female body they have.

Wait, that's the one I meant.... I don't think there is a WWH out. My mistake, I was looking over a review of WWH this morning and had it in my mind.

Either way, there isn't a 1:18 gladiator Hulk with a helmet, so i'm taking a pass.

Which leather strap, exactly? The ones on his torso would support the manica armor.
