Here is my M998 "Gun Truck" HMMWV.
It is based on the 21st Century Toys M998 "Soft Top" HMMWV.
Here is what it started off looking like:
I did the following modifications:
* Cut off most of the soft-top, painted the rest to match the vehicle.
* Cut out most of the supports in the back to make a flatbed.
* Used the supports to create bracing for side armor.
* Used cardstock to create side armor, weathered it a bit. Added holes/rivets.
* Added deep water fording exhaust and snorkel (snorkel from M1025).
* Added M240B and M240B mount on top of cabin.
* Added lots of stowage, extra tire, etc.
* Overall wash/drybrush for a dirtier look.
This is what I ended up with!
I did a LOT of work on this one, and it was a little scary cutting into the plastic for the first time! I saw a picture online, and wanted to try and make something similar. I think it turned out alright, not perfect, but I don't have anything to craft new items with so I had to make due with what I had around my desk
