The slanted marine decals and the fact that the pilot is basically eating the heads up display is sorta a turn off.

Nice scheme overall though.

Well that's pretty.

The MARINES on the tail wouldn't bother me if I didn't know it was off.

Canopy.. that's weird. When I saw it a couple years ago it slid like it should. Guess they had to go back to the drawing board?

What's the price for this guy now?

What's the price for this guy now?

The original price was $240 plus shipping & handing but it appears everyone is charging a little differently. Some retailers are higher than others but that maybe because they are trying to sneak in the shipping and handling charges while advertising free shipping to entice costumers. You'll have to shop around to find the best price. Most retailers are still waiting for them to come in. Aviatornut and Legends, Toys & Hobbies are the only two I'm currently aware of who have them in stock.

So who's getting one to review here? Like NSA, the cost being >$200 and with no pilot included makes it highly unlikely that I'll take the leap. But a great review of a better looking article than the one linked just might win me over... :D

Considering Merit sort of cut ties with us for no reason, despite the attention NSA was giving them, it's highly unlikely I give a shit enough to fork over more than 200 bucks for a glued, non-sliding cockpit. And judging by the one video, nozzles that don't rotate without some strain on the mechanism.

I was waiting for it. Now it's here and though it's beautiful, i think i won't buy it.
I can't forgive him(?) that the pilot seat is placed much forward, than it sould have to be. Looking at the pictures, i think it's almost there, where the pilot should have to be. But again, it's a piece of art.

So why do some links where the Harrier is being sold, list that one of the features are that the canopy opens(Flying Mule and Military Toyshop) while other links don't(Aviatornut)? Does the canopy open or not?

Kudos to Merit for finally getting this project done. The only real disappointment is the lack of a sliding canopy. I'm hoping that Merit will eventually produce another run of this model with that feature. Maybe an upgrade to make it possible on the existing model-I'd be willing to pay for it! Hopefully the kit version will have it. Love all the moving features-that's what got me into 1/18th!
