But you don't like GI Joe?

I don't like the general hubbub surrounding the mythos. As in laser weapons, somewhat homosexual military experts, and incompetent enemies.

Did I know about any of that shit as a kid? Hell no. I thought the comic packs were cool though. "There's a white ninja fighting a black one. The white one is the bad guy though!" And "this guy's named Firefly! He looks really cool!" That basically sums up my initial experience with the ARAH side of things.

In reference to my title, that's because I tend to view most figures for their custom uses, not for their characters. Unless it's a character that I do in fact like, then yeah it's fine. Hell, every figure I own has been painted in some way.

no need to defend your title, a huge junk of us aren't joe fans anymore.

I'm a ARAH fan and even that is limited to 82-88 lol.

Got in my Falcon/Cesspool wave today. Both Falcon cards are fucked, and the Cesspools are at least passable enough to not bother shipping back. The Cesspools are less of a concern, as I planned to open one and leave the other carded, but both cards have a slight issue to them that makes it tough for me to figure out. Do I open the one that has the machine-made indent down the front of the card, or the one that's got the slightest crease from being crammed into their ridiculous fucking shipping box?

The Falcons are another issue altogether. The card on one looks like excess glue leaked out during the stamping process that adheres the bubble to the card, and then it ripped off ink and paper as the machine released it. It's also stamped REALLY heavily too, so there's a bigger indent than normal on the card.

The other Falcon, the bubble curled under itself in one spot and is melted on the other side, so it didn't even adhere to the card because the bubble was damaged, so it's flapping halfway off the fucking card. And the card, is missing the fucking clearcoat on 3/4 of it. If there wasn't a figure inside the bubble, I'd say it was about as great an example of "Ah, fuck it, close enough!" as you could get without having no actual product intact altogether.

Oh the Cesspool "conundrum"? I dunno if it'd be noticeable on camera. It's not really a big deal, I've already decided to not bother sending it back.

I'll snap some shots in a few of the Falcon though, as it's sort of amusing how bad it is.

After looking at the Cesspools more, I realized that both their bubbles are… melted? Along the edges, where there's normally straight edges (the bubble being a rectangle with rounded corners) they're all just wavy and irregular. Kind of like a splat. It's like the heating process gets WAY too hot when putting them on the cards.

I drew a green line to show where the edge of the plastic is. That's not where the glue is showing through, it's the edge of the actual bubble, which is normally straight. I realized that my Tollbooths both had a corner that was melted, but nothing like this. Also, you can see the crease of the card. It's just a straight line dented in, it looks like a machine did it. Not a big issue, but another goof nonetheless on a "premium" item.

You can also see where the 2 Cesspools are side-by-side, that the bubble on the left has a milky-looking glue. It's not a glare, the left one is milky and not clear, and the one on the right is clear in the bottom right half of the bubble.

Now, the Falcons are more extensive. You can see where it peeled off the ink in the stamping process, and also where the bubble was melted on both sides of the other figure's card.

The image with 2 shots of the card art shows where there's a hard edge where the clearcoat just drops off… And you can see the ink reflecting on the bare white card. Normally, the entire thing is glossy.

Thanks Club!

I realize some of those things are pettier than others. I was just pointing out the most obvious issues with them. Some aren't worth getting a replacement, it just shows their range of error.

I also realize that this entire grown-man-bitching-about-a-toy's-package is petty, too, but it's not like these are retail items. Like I've said before, coming from a Collector's Club, you shouldn't have to deal with damage like this.

For the price, those issues are unacceptable...the funny thing, I've NEVER had an issue even close to any of those from a retail figure...

Yeah, me neither. The QC this time isn't just something folks are bitching about, it's considerably worse this year than last year's packaging. So far in, at month 4, I've had to send back 4 figures out of 16 due to the shoddy packaging/production quality, and of the ones I opened, I opened the one that was damaged of the 2 sets, so it's actually higher than 25%.

It's hard to feel bad for you (and any other Club customers) though...you know it's a sh!tty company to buy from, but you keep lining up for sh!tty service, hacked accounts, sub-par figure selection, horrific QC, etc etc...

Where's MB? I need some backup :D

Yeah, I'm waiting on him to come in with his silly spiel.

And I agree with you to a degree that it is dumb, but folks like MW and Fogger and I have explained it in length already about the cost of cherry-picking vs. buying the full set, and how it's still cheaper to pony up and buy direct than get the few that you want for the same price.

Now if they piss me off to the point that I don't care anymore, and it's not worth the hassle to get the few figures that I want, then I'll stop. But for the time being, this is the best route we've got to get the few gems they're making.

What's dumber, buying a whole set for $300 and getting 13 figures shipped to me directly (even with problems) or spending $300 on 6 figures I want and giving a store like BBTS 200% markup?

Well buying any of it seems to be the dumb move.

But we've had this argument too many times already. You people are slaves to your nostalgia, and the rest of us just have to come to terms with your disability.

Says the "grown man" buying toys NOT for nostalgia reasons? :whatever:

That's just giving Eddie the opening to bitch about BBTS, you know. :hijack:

Was trying misdirection, seeing if he'd follow. "Duck season!" "Wabbit Season!"

Well, with BBTS you get a more secure transaction along with people that know how to pack items. Best part is that even though you pay more for certain figures it is at least one less person that is paying the club. At the end of the day that is a win. The less people giving them money the better. There are plenty of Rex's out there to keep the club going unfortunately.

That makes no fucking sense how it's one less person buying from the Club. BBTS isn't making these things.

And the goddamn things come from the Club in the first place, so the handling comment doesn't even make sense. Now, it's one more place that handles the item, not less.

Are you guys that dull? If you just buy fromm BBTS then it is one less sub to tbe club. BBTS is buying them either way so just get it from them and do not subscribe to the club. You are not getting a sub so it is one less and then BBTS eats it on shitty figures. Maybe they buy less if they take too much of a hit. Again, less subs. Talk with your wallet. It is how you have to. Although you buy from BBTS it is not direct support to the club so one less sub they sold outside of BBTS.

That's a good plan , but that won't solve the qc issues.

I'd be pretty upset of Bombstrike was the 13th figure. I just don't see them making one of the most wanted figures a secret though. That figure alone would sell sets, making it a secret would lose money.

Anthony wants a Big Mac meal which costs $5, but he doesn't want the fries with the meal. Stupid fries! Also, he fucking hates McDonald's!

Damn you McDonald's! You're not getting Anthony's money! So Anthony takes his money to Tim, who offers to buy Anthony his Big Mac meal, minus the fries. Stupid fries! Tim goes to McDonald's and buys a Big Mac meal. He then charges Anthony $5 (for the combo) plus gas money, and keeps the fries to sell to someone else (likely some other idiot, for another $5). Anthony gets his Big Mac meal, minus the fries, for $7 (remember, the gas money)! What a deal! Anthony got what he wanted, and McDonald's didn't sell a single combo!

Does that make any sense?

I see his point though...because Tim was gonna buy the meal either way...if Anthony also bought one, they would've sold two meals...yeah, Tim profited and Anthony paid double for his Big Mac, but McDonalds only sold one meal...

F*#%!!...now I want a Big King meal

In this case, just like BBTS, Tim wasn't planning on buying any for himself. So all they're doing is playing middle man and still buying the item that the customers would've bought anyways.

BBTS put up preorders, and bought FSS sets based off how many preorders they got. That's how they did it, they don't buy 200 sets and then hope people buy them.

Hmmm, good point...BUT, Anthony didn't have to pay for a "free" Quarter Pounder/membership to get his Big Mac (that I'm sure Tim was able to skirt to get the meal)

NOR did Anthony have to gamble and give McDonalds (who are known for losing customers CC information), his payment information...

I'm sorry man...I'm just being contrary for fun :D ...this food metaphor is just too fun...
