After putting this off for over a month, I finally pulled my finger out and repainted my PTE A-10.
I used mostly hardware store rattle cans: Flat Black primer, followed by Forest Green and Machinery Grey, and Tamiya Olive Green.

Here's the factory version (medium grey with a wash).

Here's the repaint (still needs to be weathered).

I need a better pilot figure too.

Hope you like it.

I also covered up the hollow undersides of the stock wings.
I didn't have enough sheet styrene, so I used medium-weight cardboard. After careful measuring I cut holes for the underwing hardpoints. I added (inaccurate) panel detail by sticking on shapes made of thin card and tape.

I glued the card to the wing with PVA glue, and when it dried I ran a bead of superglue along the edge. When that dried I varnished the cardboard with several brushed coats of shellac, which gave me a nice smooth plastic surface.

hahaha.

I try to find an old post a day that I either missed or never got around to posting in. This was the post today :)

Thanks again, boys (five months down the track). :D
To this day I haven't weathered (or made any further progress on) the A-10.

Too much on my plate at the moment, I guess. I haven't even had time to check my usual toy store for new PTE stuff.
