So, I was checking this out, thanks to your link, and this is really bad ass. I think I might get one, and load it up with some cool gear.

Burder make a Land Rover that works well with modern figures. They have two versions one with a roof and one thats a truck. Here is the one I have with the roof.

Looks like you're right. Still, didn't deserve that color.

I took it more as just some eccentric south american colour scheme. Ridiculous fuckers.

My intention in showing that truck and the path to my blog where the whole customization process is shown was to contributing with an idea of what can be made of a poorly manufactured toy. Of course others may chose different colors or a different layout of the payload area. The figures I chose at random and placed them only for purpose of showing the size of the truck. Furthermore I would like to mention that colors of vehicles depend on the region and period. Therefore, a combination of light blue and red wheel caps may be ridiculous in the USA today. In Brazil and other tropical South American countries it was very common up to the 1980s and even today you can find it. In the USA and Germany a cobalt blue paint was popular in the 1950s and early 1960s but not today. Thus a cobalt blue painted truck may be useful for a diorama of these locations and period. A quick search in Google is all it takes to find that out. A truck model like that I made e.g. could be used in a diorama depicting a South American civil war or rebel scenario without being ridiculous and therefore should not give rise to offensive comments.

Maybe not ridiculous to you, but ridiculous to others. That doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to state their displeasure concerning the color. It has nothing to do with your customizing skills, and certainly didn't come off as offensive as you seem to think it was intended.
