So I finally got around to opening the GB o-ring 4-pack, and I have to say, it's pretty neat.
I was never a huge GB fan. I saw the movie mutable times as a kid and enjoyed it, but I was never into the cartoon or toys... they felt aimed at younger kids, and I was too cool for that. And Slimer in the cartoon was basically Jar-Jar before Jar-Jar. I hated him soooooo much. I wouldn't have bought into a full franchise of stuff, but with only four main characters @ $11/ea in a single four-pack (no hunting, no shortpacks, no chase figures), it's hard to say no.
Plus, the 4-pack is well done. The likenesses are very good yet keep that 80's o-ring vibe. They come with all the gear you'd want or expect... proton packs, proton guns, a trap, a ghost meter, etc. I haven't checked, but I hope the heads are compatible with other o-ring figs... as it would be nice to be able to have likenesses of Aykroyd and Murray on other bodies, just because.
Overall, the set is great and feels like a good value. But I still don't understand why a licensed property like GB can have $11 o-rings, yet in-house IP like Joe can't get o-rings below $20. I guess we'll never know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
