How do you remove 25th style Gung Ho's hat?

I've attempted to remove, without success, 25th Anniversary Gung Ho's hat (and Leatherneck's) just to see if they'd come off, and they didn't. So what kind of glue did Hasbro use?! This stuff is stronger than any super glue I've ever used!

Just curious to know if anyone's been successful removing these hats.

i've had great success slipping a very small flatip head screwdriver under the backside of the hat and prying it up and off...takes a little bit of wiggling, but it eventually comes off with little to no damage to the hat/head

OK, thanks! I've never tried using a tool because I figured it would damage the figure and the hat. But now that I know it can be done without the damage, I may attempt it again.

BTW, can Gung Ho's head be cleaned off after removing the hat? And how does he look without it?

The Gung Ho head sculpt has a peg on the end, kind of like a lego man's head, so there's a good deal of surface area. Just work your way around the edges like Eddie said, and it should eventually pry up.
