The people over at Nuke The Fridge was sent what could be the first review of Jon Chu's G.I. Joe Retaliation. The person who is calling them selves "Razar" gave the film a positive review saying it was perfect for the fans that wanted a more serious film compared to the last one. He also said he hopes they make a third film. The review is way to spoilerish to post with out giving away some major plot points. But if you would like to read it, highlight the text below. Remember we have no way to confirm this so make sure to take this with a huge grain of salt.
“G.I. Joe: Retaliation†is perfect for fans that wanted a more serious tone than the last outing.
The film included lots of ninja action, (although they are far from “silent†about it), which fans of the major story arc between Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Zartan from the Marvel comics will be thrilled with. Plenty of fan favorite characters like Firefly get plenty of screen time and a few new surprises, and Cobra Commander dons his familiar reflective mask. The villainy is far more straight forward, and some of it, such as Zartan, disguised as the POTUS, is surprisingly humorous, and may have some people actually cheering for his policies. A very worthy addition to this franchise.
One thing…. I miss Scarlett.
Another thing…. I loved that Sake Eyes and Storm Shadow joined forces against Zartan!

They have already accomplished what RoC completely pissed away... which too me is the most important thing... They are staying true to the characters.

Yeah I think it'll be a decent movie.. skip most of the figures though.. which of course means Hasbro will think the movie is a failure and ruin GIJOE 3.

i think this jon ha chu, god bless you, will turn it back around with this movie. if he can get the core fans and new kids to dig it where everyone relates, the toys should do ok, and will make a more promising step towards a 3rd movie, but then also comes into commercializing it, to where the core fans fall off, and the newer ones expand with the lore, toys and party favors.

I'm not excited about the movie. Never was. Doesn't mean I had any opposition to it, but I was always far more concerned about the toys - still am. The movie, however, looks neat enough to catch a daytime showing on a weekday about 2 weeks after its premier. Not worth sitting in a room full of inconsiderate cellphone flashing dickwads.
Just image if RoC was treated like total shit and got the treatment that this movie got. Joe would be soo much bigger. There is still a shit ton of people who went to the 1st movie and will refuse to even give the 2nd movie a chance because of how shitty roc was.
I'll prolly see it twice. I will see it the opening night at midnight for 2 reasons. Number 1 I'm excited for the movie. Number 2, I have 3 buddies that I always see the hot summer movies with every year and we always go to the opening night midnight special. This year we will see: Battleship, Spiderman, Joe2, Batman 3, Avengers, and Bourne 4. maybe a few more.
As for my 2nd viewing, that will most likely happen after a few weeks during the afternoon with a gf or a co worker or something.

thats me. this movie so far jon proved alot. so i ended up reconsidering to go see it. but i dont go to the movies, so big chance i wont see it. then i'd just wait til hbo gets it to watch it on ondemand.
i was a stone, still am a stone, but just more considerate about it now. i carelessif the movie is good or not, but happy so far that this kid picked gi joe back up, start whjere the one dude left off and then recreate it toclose to the gi joe he grew up on and remembers as a kid.
but at the end of the day, i'm only here for the FUCKIN' CLASSICS!!!!!
and get suckered into buying some new stuff that i think is cool and could fit in with the 25th and classic gi joe setting.
