Yes they did have a prototype.
The Jaguar models 1:35 Sheridan is a beauty.
Just gauging interest. There's a world of possibility out there when you have a friend with a 3-D printer who wants to do something cool with it. Keep in mind I'm the first customer here and it'll take time. I have to make the 3-D model first - which I am told may not be as difficult as I thought. But since I want to make this thing as badly as some people seem to want it, I'll give it a go.
It has vague features from both. You are correct, though, about it being too small to be much good for anything 1:18.
Just like anything, some figures fit better than others. I will take requests on testing to see who fits, if I have the figure. The back bench on the Huey sits a tad low and too far aft, so getting figures in there can be troublesome. That said 5-6 figures in the back/at the doors isn't impossible.
The AH-1W has smaller seats, so you may have fewer options. If I recall correctly I couldn't even get a Huey driver in that damn thing.
One of these days I intend to turn mine into an AH-1G, but given all the threads on how fragile it is, I'm a bit hesitant to touch it.
yeah I'd be way afraid of doing anything with the Cobra.. It tends to break if you look at it sideways.

All the Hueys had that same color, and it wasn't quite "right" to any period color. Probably the least of the historical issues on "Ace of Spades".
If you're inclined they do weather up nicely.

I understand completely.
This one was an Air America bird that was riddled with problems and the price reflected it. She's still on the workbench, waiting for parts to become available or for me to DIY them.
thats great! far better than the original! I would definetely buy it! the tiger camo on the fig looks great too!
Don't get the PTE little bird. You're far better off getting a BBi one for $30 - 40.
Hmm...I bought my BBi Loach from Smalljoes for around $35 about ten months ago, but they no longer have them in stock. I can't find them at Foxhole Toys anymore either. They had them for a bit more. Sorry to get your hopes up. Last winter I was mulling over both of them. The PTE Loach looks OK in the photos. I bought one at a local Big Lots before they ran dry. Out of the box, the PTE Loach is a joke. The BBi one has some definite flaws, but the PTE bird is like a cartoon next to the BBi bird. The proportions are all wrong and it has some weird random plastic stubs and wings added to it. So if you're looking for something remotely accurate, avoid the PTE Loach. If you don't mind doing some heavy customizing, or if you're just looking for a GI Joe helicopter, then the PTE one will work.
The PTE bird is still not worth the time if you can find a BBi MH-6 for less than $50.
