Merit International announced new 1/16 Tiger I and T34/85 tanks and a 1/18 mystery plane for today's ihobbyexpo.

"We will also be showing our 1/16 T34/85 and a 1/16 Tiger I pre-built models along with some other neat stuff in smaller scale."

Pegasus is American, I don't think Merit handles their distribution.

I don't think Pegasus has really been hinting much in 1:18, at least nothing wholly interesting.

I'm not sure if there are any 1:16 static display Tigers. I'm going on the assumption that this is going to be similar to the FoV Koenigstiger, and has LOTS of interior details and metal construction.

It seems there are many images posted on various photo/imaging hosting sites such as Flickr of the event. Apparently Castle RC had a 1:18 v-22 Osprey on display. I believe its the same one offered by Rotormast. Its a shame it cost so much.

Yeah, I agree its definitely not 1:18 in scale that's for sure but rather maybe 1:32 instead. Looks identical to the one Banana Hobby currently sells but the vender showing it off is KMP (Kondor Model Products). http://www.kmp.ca/index.php?osCsid=0a24be3dc2241e7884f83c24abb4b42d If you look at it very closely though you noticed that its made of blown abs foam rather then solid plastic. But regardless it still looks great.

According to Merit's site they do have a new tooling being offered by Witty Wings that is due out in December. I wonder if this is what they were referring to. I certainly hope not.

Actually this is a SBD-3 Dauntless. The one Admiral was working on was a SBD-2. I wonder what the difference is.

Not a whole lot cosmetically, I don't believe. There was more armor on the 3, as well as self-sealing tanks. Probably the big visual clue is the 3s four MGs.


Still, not very interesting.
