oh yeah, i know...like i said, they really have no idea whats going to happen day to day...its the same way at my work...

i guess i'm just pi$$ed cause the writing on the wall seems so certain based on the RoC mess...all that stuff shown at Joe Con was some of Hasbros best work, and its very likely to get pushed aside for ANOTHER line of garbage in movie toy form...its just crazy irritating...

I wish they'd push forward with POC-style "off-screen" characters while mixing them with "on-screen" characters based on the movie, sort of how they have been doing "comic" versions alongside "film" versions of characters in the Marvel film properties within the 1:18 scale... But I highly doubt that.

And I swear to God, if they repeat the first 1-2 shit waves in revision cases and flood the pegs YET AGAIN, then they're simply fucking retarded and shouldn't be in charge of a company. They do that EVERY SINGLE TIME and we miss out on distribution of the much-better, later-wave figures.

Would it be possible to sell weapons sets and sticker sheets on hasbro toyshop to update/fix older skystrikers and replace any lost missiles?

You know I like that, to expand on it. i often wondered if they would ever consider selling weapon packs again like in the 80's. Didnt i read that the extra accessories and heads were going away because labor laws in China are getting stricter and they can't pay people in rice anymore. A great way to offset that desire of fans for them would be to sell them in weapon sets again.

I think those classify as weapon/accessory packs, which have been nixed.

That question has been asked before for newer items. They have no interest in doing that stuff. They only want to move forward. That's what e bay is for to find that stuff. If they are retooling items they would not take a step back.

I'm gettin all kinds of confused reading this? I know its been asked before, but I don't think anybody has asked about just having it on hts or even just be able to call them up with a parts catalogue, which would really be the best place to sell them IMHO, not in the stores. But the part I don't understand is how would it be taking a step back to offer a part that WILL get lost eventually, and I don't think many people will be having there striker go missile-less to put the missiles on ebay. Thats just me though, I'm not hasbro:rolleyes:

You have a better chance getting someone to cast it honestly. Cobra stickers has repro stuff too. Your question is really something that would have to be answered through their e mail on hasbro.com. You'd have a way better chance at a reasonable response.

MB is well versed at trying to get questions that will actually get a decent answer..

And to be fair, we got some really cool figures in the RoC line I though, if for nothing more than custom work. Desert Duke? PIT Commando? That Destro thing.. etc.

And really, you'd have to be an idiot to not be able to make the connection that RoC enabled Joe to go from 25th-style figures to PoC-style figures. With rare exception, the 25th figures SUCKED in comparison (From a design standpoint) to the RoC/PoC figures. The $$ they threw at RoC figures helped pushed forward the overall figure design, I have no doubt. (This goes also for the Marvel/etc lines who use the basic-Joe design now).

So I really don't know the etiquette or history for these question submissions, so let me know if this has already been asked, or if HTS is off-limits, or some other faux pas.

But what I would really like to know is:

Why HTS seems to have a difficult time keeping some inventory in stock? There are some figures, such as Shadow Tracker, Weapon Dealer Destro, and various army builders, that are in high demand, and which collectors are having a very difficult (or impossible) time finding in retail. To have those figures well-stocked at HTS would make tremendous sense. It would be a service to the collector, as well as providing a higher profit for Hasbro as Hasbro is skipping the middle-man distributor. The demand is present for these figures...the "Out of Stock" icon reflects that. Why is the supply not matching?

Figures. No wonder the producer and the on-line retailer can't get on the same page.

I am "pretty sure" that HTS acts like any other retailer in regards to Hasbro, which seems retarded, but I am sure it's done for tax purposes or something.

To that end, I don't think they can order 100x the amount of Shock Troopers vs what Target gets etc. It'd be an unfair competitive advantage (though would definitely help collectors). I have to assume that HTS orders things by the case, just as Wal-mart or anyone else would do. Do they probably save some money somewhere along the process? I'd imagine so.. that's why they can sell @ MSRP and not some jacked up $8.99 or something.

But they get stuck with the loser figures as well, which is why they seem to be switching to a sell-by-the-case approach instead of individual figures. It's a biggest investment by the consumer, but you generally get 2x of each figure and they don't sell out nearly as quick.

I've finally moved to buying cases with this past wave 5 and 6, which is the only reason I have those figures. I know it's a cliched joke, but I am not exaggerating when I say all my Targets are stocked with Arctic Destros with a few random Dukes and SS, and my TRU is still carrying RoC and those RipLine vehicles. I don't know if I am happy or sad when I've come to the realization I don't miss the retail hunt anymore.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised about the separation of Hasbro and HTS...many large corporations split divisions like that. I truly wonder if it's worth it financially for them, though, if they could have direct contact with the consumer. Hell, I would, in a heartbeat, drop $85 for a case of Vipers or other army builders and I am sure I'm not the only one. I can see some retailers crying foul and monopoly...but at the same time, Hasbro makes exclusives for other retailers...why not an exclusive Army builder case for HTS?

Ah well, a boy can dream.....

I imagine the SDCC stuff is HTS exclusives.. the other stores don't get those :)

I don't think any questions DIRECTLY regarding movie figures is going to get answered at this time, since nothing has been announced, it will likely get an "We don't have an answer at this time" response.

Here's a question, stemmed by the fact that I dropped by Target to pick up some cleaning products and on a whim breezed past the toys, and I counted TWENTY-F***ING-TWO Snowfight Destros.

TWENTY. TWO.

Q: What happened to the guys who got fired for designing and approving Arctic Destro? Oh, they didn't? Hmm, well, you should consider it, because that figure was a guaranteed peg-warmer the second that fans caught wind of the idea.

"We are always evaluating the future releases for our ever-popular G.I. Joe line. We always take in all comments and sales reports from the field and our wonderful community. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have any plans to release any female figures other than those we have previously shown. Thank you for your question!"

I should work for Hasbro!

I kind of want a Covergirl, But what I really want is a female Cobra Trooper. Classic look, updated, whatever.

Forgot about Covergirl.. I could see that as a 'Con Exclusive.. no reason she'd be popular enough to be on the pegs.

Female trooper seems do-able.. didn't get get a female diver? Or was that baroness? I can't keep them straight.

Zarana mess? I see lots of people with multiples.. Hell even here people are saying they got one from hts, and two from bbts and their buddies got them one at the con! Once the hts shipments go out I can only imagine how many will be on ebay. And I have to believe it was a pretty nominal production run too.

Just because a bunch of collectors whine about something doesn't make it have mass market appeal.

Anyways I think a con exclusive with packaging similar to zarana would 'please' collectors far more than another ROC type cover girl.

Furthermore if you put a covergirl figure in the same assortment as a lifeline or viper or other good figures, I bet it'd be the pegwarmer. How many do collectors need? One. Maybe customizers would grab some for fodder but that's got to be a small percentage.

I think zarana would peg warm for sure if it was in stores and not a fancy exclusive.

Well, I do think that the collector-based females have a higher popularity than Hasbro is willing to admit (or realize, I guess), but I dunno if they should release a ton in the main line. A few here or there would be nice, and I can't believe that POC had zero females, not even a Baroness or Scarlett (which I'm tired of seeing, but anyways).

I personally expect to see Cover-Girl from the GIJCC. All the tooling is there, we'll likely see a Sparta repaint. Probably the same with Footloose, sadly, who I'd buy mutables of.

I think cover girl would be a good fit for the GIJCC. Actually anything people want these days from arah should be club material. Let Hasbro proper move forward with whatever they are going to do, at least that way everything won't be half assed.

Don't you go talkin' crazy-talk! We gotta haves them '82s in the line!

It just seems like people won't be happy (ever) unless the figures are done right, and only the club and exclusives are doing that right now.

I am excited for the new movie figures, as homage to the originals, but more for the customer fodder. I think the "25th" nostalgia ship has sailed.

Well, the GIJCC didn't exactly do it right with the JoeCon stuff, but they're headed in the right direction. Hasbro should give them the rights to use more tooling and just let them handle the 25th styled shit from now on so they can move forward, yet still sell shit to fans and keep that fandom alive (not much else is keeping the Joe line alive at the moment).
