My, my, my! Such a lot of guns around town and so few brains! You know, you're the second guy I've met today that seems to think a gat in the hand means the world by the tail.

So this one was an accident. I had fully intended to use a Henry Jones upper with a Joe lower and Mouse head to do a Harold Lloyd-inspired custom, but the only torso I could find for trade was missing the arms and coat. I almost passed, but it dawned on me that I was a fan of the rolled up sleeves and vest look, and that I could probably manage a pretty good '30s-'40s character with the parts I had on hand.

So here we have Philip Marlowe, slightly younger than generally depicted. Not a fan of the Indy belt here, but the waist is thin and it'll have to do until I can find another option. Really want to make the shoulder rig a permanent deal, but, again, the Colton one isn't quite what I want it to be.

He'll have to settle for the Maisto '37 EL Knucklehead until I can make myself pull the trigger on a Yat Ming '32 Ford 3-window.

Thanks, guys. I need to find his damn leg screws. I'm using ones off a 25th Beachhead and I think the one is long. :shakefist:

Haha, got a grinder?...just take a tad off the end...

Finished product came out beautifully..that tan is much better if you ask me...

I hadn't noticed before, but what knees did you use?...I hate the weirdly detailed ones that are normally in their place..

That's all RoC/PoC CC.
Do have a grinder, but I think I can dremel it just as well.

We discussed them versus the SS ones.

As an aside, I added a pocket square to Zap's coat. I really need to name that LBC.

I'll get one a bit later. It's just a piece of Milliput, but it was kinda necessary.

This is great, really liking it. Can't wait to see the lady you have planned standing by him.

Getting the torsos to hook up wasn't my major worry. I was more concerned with the Colton arms on the Jones torso. Funnily enough some light sanding and they popped right in.

Can't complain about things going easily!

Thanks.

I figured I had the Prof. X-based hood done, I might as well do a white hat foil, too.

Yeah, those Maisto bikes occasionally prove useful.

Man... the craft behind this is obviously unimpeachable, and speaking as someone who doesn't paint or sculpt or do much of anything but pop Figure A's head onto Figure B's body, I can't tell you how humbling it is to see work like this.

...but even more than that, I am in love with this because of what you chose to do with your talent. A friggin' '30s detective! I will paraphrase something Roger Ebert wrote in response to Batman Begins:

This is the custom I did not realize I was waiting for.

Thanks for the kind words. I've got a hard on' for the '20s-'40s, and this was a custom that was one of those happy accidents.

Thanks, everybody!
