I don't like that the lower legs are flat and the upper legs are gloss. And the arms don't bend 90 degrees which is annoying. Other than that it's perfect. Now what to do with 5 Iron Mans?

Fixing the different finishes is a tough one, but the range of motion is a quick fix.

It might be easier just to build those. It looks like Law torso and arms with Roc SS legs.

For $3.50 more, you can get the belt along with the whole figure shipped to your door...and it's actually less than that since I didn't take into account shipping from Ragnspoon...

Just putting it out there for if and when the figure's no longer available.

I think the Hasbro one will be a bit more durable.

Behind a camera watching you!
Funko Reaction has a series of figures that would make good civilians,

BBTS doesn't have pictures of all of them but Entertainment Earth seems to have a few more pictures.

They'll be great as long as you keep them far away from the foreground. 1978 levels of sculptural detail and articulation.

"What does Marcsellus Wallace look like?"

"An action figure?"

"Does he look like a Real Doll?"

"No?"

"Then why are you trying to .... Like a RealDoll?"

You know, I wondered about that. How could a fledgling company like Funko or Super7 convince this big company to let them use these old molds to produce these figures when they could do it themselves and keep all the cash?

I was cool with the Alien figures, but the rest...I don't know. Some of the properties seem a little 'out there" in terms of how profitable they will be. And while I know people like the retro designs, some of them seem to be a little bit too "cartoony". Couldn't they bump up the detail to a "Empire Strikes Back" or "Return of the Jedi" level?

Yeah, I don't mind the retro kitschy nature or poor articulation as these are a little tongue-in-cheek to begin with... but the detail levels are not even up to 1980's standards and the giant melon heads push these from "cool novelty" to "complete joke - no thanks" territory. I'm looking at you BTTF figures.

I think they're basing them all on that weak-ass late '70s-early '80s look. The Aliens ones make sense as Kenner prototyped them back in '79.
The rest is nostalgia wank for a small niche of collectors. It's a big ass "What If?" line. What if Kenner had it's hands on this-or-that line in 1980-whatever.

And the answer is should be fairly obvious. They "suck", just like 95% of all pre-ARAH 3.75" figures.

I need not be bothered I guess, no one will make me buy them. Although I do like the clear Predator figure.

I can't for the life of me understand why I'm bothered so much. I mean, I get what they were going for, and normally I would be pretty indifferent. Most of this stuff is well-trod action figure ground. If you don't have a figure of some of these, it's because you wear a pointy white hood and believe in scale supremacy.

Others, though, are first timers. The only official Pulp Fiction figures were some shitty stylized block figures. The Rocketeer has generally been relegated to 1:6 figures. I guess it just sticks in my craw.

I know why I'm bothered by it...because this "what if" only halfway fills my true "what if" desire...I want some of these characters in this scale, but not sh!tty retro figures...I want these characters in today's standard of action figure design...these figures are a giant what could've been tease...
