Finally finished. I first started putting the parts together for this project over 18 months ago. This is actually based on an unproduced Action Man set that only made it to the prototype stage. The main challenge was to convert a Vietnam era Willys jeep into a WW2 British dsesert version. My dad was looking forward to working with me on this, unfortunately we never got the chance to start it together. Everything went perfectly with the cutting, sanding, molding, painting, etc. I would swear that sometimes I felt a hand on my shoulder and a little voice in my ear whispering encouragement. I have been customising for 30 years now, but this is the first vehicle I have attempted. More than happy with the way it turned out.

I had the choice of buying a diecast model of a WW2 Willys jeep or using the two PTE models I had in a box. I decided to go with what I had, as I couldn't justify paying another $60+ dollars for another jeep. I just sanded out the rear wheel wells and put plasticard over the top to make them rounded. I cut out the horizontal bars on the radiator grill and turned them vertically, adding the water tank to teh front. I used the spare wheel from the extra jeep I had. I couldn't find the axe or spade that came with either one, so I used the ones I had in my spares box from Marauder. Going to Marauder for the jerry cans was a no-brainer. I had bought a couple of packs of BBi/Dragon accessories a while back, so I sprinkled them liberally around. I was looking for something to put on the drivers side, and found the shotgun and holster from the Evil Dead Ash figure. I know the guns on the front should be Bren guns with drum magazines, but I had about six spare sandtrooper rifles that were based on the British Army Lewis gun, so I used them and stuck Tripwire mines on top as the magazines.
