Holy Blackhawk, Batman!

These are all awesome, but I especially like the following:

Rick's shot of "Lowlight getting into the thick of things!"

Eddie's "Rattler on my Six!"

Damn, Custer's shots look like REAL Soldiers!

got some updates on my entry...Bee helped me with the cropping and chop'n (what would we do w/o him :)) which IMO makes the pic look way better...

so what i'm wondering is, which of the three do ya'lls like better?...

1. close one
2. middle one
3. pulled back one

Keep in mind the logo for the site. I'd hate to have to gun down/take out the A-10 in the background so we can display the logo properly. lol The last two work the best in my opinion.

That can be pulled off in photoshop. That's up to Eddie of course. With that said I try not to manipulate other peoples work in any way unless they're okay with it first.

Actually its all dependent on what shutter speed your using while taking the picture, really. However a little blur at the tips of the blades or least to the ones we do see will make it look that much more real and believable. If you look at reference photos of real Apaches you will see a diffence in blurring along the blades during flight. The more blur of course does help encourage the viewer that the blades are actually moving rather then static.

Yeah second one with logo on the right probably.

Wish the blades were spinning though

the funny thing is, they were spinning!...and the flash was off...but i couldn't get it to pick up blur...there were a couple that it did pick it up, but the composition wasn't to my liking...i think the one in "Air Superiority" you can see a hint of spin...EDIT: nope, can't see it on that one either...

but yeah Bee, if you can crop a hint of spin in the final vote thread, that would be really cool and very much appreciated

Yea, I tried to go further back but it just didn't look right. Oh well. Getting that dust cloud took about 10 shots. I used compressed air for computers.

Hey we all have to start somewhere. Besides if it weren't for the abundance of reference pitures online I wouldn't have a clue on how to get my work to look real enough. I tend to mimic what I see anyhow. And so far that's served me pretty well.

Great improvement on Eddie's Bee.

Blood that scene is bitchin. Great idea on dust cloud. Maybe you could have shot it from above a little more than further away to get more in the frame size needed.

You should make a copy and play with the crop box. That's what I do. I just click crop and when the box comes up I extend it to the end on both left and right, then move the box around to get what I want in it and then shorten it hieght wise a tad and that's it. That's all I do bro

Fixed it a little bit. Still, too much will get lost when cropped.

If you go out and shoot that same location especially to the right of it during the time of day you did it in you should have no problem piecing it together with what you have now. That way you can avoid cropping out what you would like to keep within the dimensions of the banner itself. I've done this before myself and works out most of the time. Just an idea.

That's nothing really. It needs more work though before I'm satisfied with it. The rocks to the right don't quite blend with the scene just yet. But yeah you can do almost anything with Photoshop these days. Its like painting with images.

thats nice T...might wanna consider an angle that will be more cropped friendly...if you get down lower, you can get all that in the shot and the top or bottom dead space of the pic can get lopped off for the banner dimension

That was the best angle I was able to get. I did try it lower which did very well as you suggest it would, but it put the neighbors trailer in to the shot in way that could not be cropped out.

I'll work on a different one that more crop friendly for the contest. I'll remove this one as your right about the cropping issue

how about this shot i took a bunch of shot at first and I apparently over looked this one. this shot was at lower angle and the camera was further away.

Love all these true 1:18 choppers!

Like the storyline and posing is perfect reflection of it.

Is that a pte spec op head on the joe figure?
