STUKA ZU FUSS HALFTRACK machine gun?

So my family got me some stuff for my birthday last week. I got a FOV m16 half-track, some gi joe stuff for cheap at TJ Maxx, but most important to my collection is the addition of my very first German Half-Track. Unfortunately, as you know, this variant for some odd reason pictures the vehicle on the box with a forward facing machine gun, but doesn't actually have it. I could just have a German soldier stand there with an extra MG42, but I'd rather have the real deal. Suggestions? Ideas?

Sound like you're gonna have to make a shield MG mount, lancelot.

ok, I don't mind making my own, I just need to know how.

Hacking up a couple of gift cards should get you your shield. Getting it to elevate and rotate may be a little tougher.

Is there a mounting point for the gun on the track itself? I reckon there should be.

I'm not seeing a point for the gun to mount into on the forward part of the half-track..

I notice that a piece of the half-track where the forward MG would go can pop off

I also noticed that I need to trim my thumb nail.

I know the Tiger came with a cheap clip on bar that the MG plugged into so it would sweep side-to-side, but no elevation.

Couldn't you use the mount from the AA MG? Just drill a hole and drop it in.

what aa mg? you mean the one at the rear? I guess I could do that.

ah, I'd have to find one of those battle of the bulge German tankers that cost $20 all the freaking time. The half track only came with the rear MG and some boxes. It was disappointing too because when I got the American Half-Track it came with all sorts of extra guns and things.

nice, will the 21st century toys MG42 fit in that? or would I have to use a FOV MG42?

I doubt either one will. You could probably modify a Marauder MG 34 to work, but 42s are likely destined for scratch-built mounts.
