hey guys...do you know of any other TFs that would scale with that 4" Prime i bought?...i'm hoping to fill out a dio with them...most importantly they would scale well with Primes alt mode...so in alt mode, a car would be about the size of a Hot Wheels/Matchbox car or slightly bigger...
i'm thinking MP Starscreams jet mode might be perfect next to that tiny Prime in semi mode

It's over a "the other place". Apparently, it's suppose to be a HISS tank Optimus Prime... Not sure why he would be a HISS tank though. Megatron would make more sense. Anyway, apparently, 3rd party company is making it, Corbot V.

It's from a comic. I never read it but I've seen artwork over the years. Cobra captures a lot of the Autobots and turns them into Cobra vehicles. Prime was a captive HISS if I remember correctly. So it's comic-accurate, as far as concept.
I don't really care if I ever get Joe vehicles that turn into TFs, but I think the idea is cool. Just not for me or my collection.

This is a thread dedicated to the Transformers line from Takara, as well as other Japan based Transformer themed robots.
Have been reading a lot of reviews on the latest release of Masterpiece Rodimus Prime, and was disappointed to see that his hand cannot properly grip the rifle.
Also, I read that transforming him from car to robot and back can be really difficult (and in some cases destructive, as small parts may break off of him while he is transformed).
Please share your intel and advice on the the latest from this amazing line.

Agreed. I-gear's corrected-mold, toon accurate colors version will beat this one out (for far less money), and the 3rd party coronation set has been out for years. I'm normally a MP whore willing to jump on whatever they produce, even the new MP-10. But this is a total pass. HasTak is going to have to do better than that to get more of my money for yet another Starscream.
Yeah, I already have that set with the coronation pads and crown, that were designed off the cancelled pics from years ago. And besides the fixed hips, which are nice but way too late, the front skirt seems to be slightly different, plus the head looks a little different (although that could just be me thinking that).
It looks good, don't get me wrong, but did anyone want that figure now? It's about the 10th use of the mold, and the 5th or so Starscream, and it took them this long to make it right?

He seems to have significant retooling. Not enough to warrant getting him, as nacho said... iGear did as good a job if not better, and much earlier, for way less than $160.
The differences seem to be:
• New head (best change besides the leg fix)
• New blasters
• Changed lower arms (arms now miss that outer white shell portion)
• Wings now have tip pointing down (iGear handled this better if you ask me...)
• Hip plate (front red "skirt")
• Side peg connectors now gone (iGear did a cleaner job than white rectangles)
• Lower legs now have tail-fins (best change)
• Feet and ridged plate above feet seem new (different transformation?)
• Paint apps
While it looks really good, like I said... Too little, too late. Had this come out in 2006, it would've knocked the socks off the original MP-03 (which this actually looks closer to the original prototype, so this is a step backwards in time, actually) and I would gladly have paid $150 for it. Not now. Retire that mold, or release official Coneheads. Just stop with the MP Starscream mold already.

have you guys seen this?...Hercules will have a black foot...it was confirmed by the designer that the black bucket is the final color...though a member at TFW sent him some poll results that told him it was a bad idea...so who knows how that will turn out...
personally, i hate the black bucket...if it stays that way, i think i'm bailing on the project...

because you can't paint a foot? weak-sauce dude. do some paint/weathering b/c the scoop on a front loader is always beaten to hell anyway. Give it some realism.

I think the black bucket looks good in bot mode, from the front. I like that it's blacked out and less obvious. Maybe they should've painted the front/inside of it green so that in Devastator/vehicle mode, it was green?
I don't think it's a deal-breaker, but I don't think it's a good design choice for the deco.

Hercules looks awesome! G2 orange deco give me, give me! I am tired of G1 devys, soooo boring now.

yes you can pre-order but you pay when you do with PP...they've got a good rep from what i hear...they were sold of Dr. Crank (Hook) for a few, but i think hes back in stock now...
in case you don't already know SR, Maketoys is doing Devy also, and they are doing him in his G2 colors...personally, i think it looks cool in that deco, but its not something i'd buy...
i really hope UM is next too...and i very much like his IDW design...in fact, i like most IDW designs...

I have to say, after having MP-10 in-hand for a few days (I still have yet to transform him, I'm such a lazy bastard... But I still haven't transformed Rodimus, and I've had him for over half a year!) that the proportions are way better than on MP-01/04.
There are things that I still love about the original, though, and I can't say that MP-10 is an all-around improvement. MP-01 is blockier, and some of his joints seem lacking (literally, like his neck and hips... There's not much there holding them on and the empty space looks bad) and the head is a tad big (I got the iGear replacement head, which actually seems a bit larger, too) but I will say this: MP-01 felt like a $200 item. Not a toy. MP-10 is just too light, and that makes him feel more toy-like. Although he's much sturdier, because he's not half-metal, so he doesn't tend to fall as easily.
While I do like the correctly-colored black cannon that MP-10 comes with, I like posing him with MP-04's gun. (Although I hate, and still hate, that the Japanese version of that damn cannon was gray, and not black). The larger-sized gun just looks much cooler.
I think they did an excellent job redesigning him, I just can't wait for the upcoming/inevitable Ultra Magnus with the full trailer/armor.
BTW, Spike is awesome and awful at the same time. While he sports more paint apps than that silly Dr. Arkeville (I hate, hate, hate that stupid accessory, and I have 6 of the fuckers) he has no eyes! Come on, Takara! Really?

so i went away for a week...the day i left, my TFC Heavy Labor (Long Haul) showed up at my house...what a long vacation...uhg!
so yesterday when i got home i quickly unboxed my present...
i LOVE this figure!...he's big and wide and short...makes him look really stocky and mean...
i hate the extra purple bumper on him that gets placed right in the middle of Devastators torso when HL is used in his limb alt mode, so i took it off....it was really easy...just push the pin that holds it in place out with a big paperclip...
now i just have to get some grey paint so Devys thighs are grey and not purple...
seeing a theme here?...i hate the over use of purple

I really like the design/look, but isn't the scale pretty small? That was my impression last time this thing came up... and I'm just not interested in a Devy that has to look up to MP-01...
Cool design comparison pic... I really like some of giant's parts better, but that size pic does me no good b/c I've never seen that craptacular optimus prime before (that thing screams "We've officially given up").
But, I only have one small fortune to spend on a 3rd party devastator, and I already have 33% of Hercules...
