More of an adult version, and more realistic... so to speak.

Rough parts build -

Base paint -

1st color base -

Wash and highlights -

More color -

Added pads, wrist wraps, shoulder strap, and sword/scabbard

I'll get much better, and more dynamic poses with the camera later...

Head and torso are AngelForge (SDS) parts. I did slightly modify the shell behind the shoulders for better range of motion, and added MU Rogers double-jointed neck.

Arms - MU Rogers
Legs - MU Rogers, with Spidey lowers
Hands/Feet - MU Night Crawler
Wrists and ankles are Revoltech joints

Ive got the Slash kit from SDS...had it a while...I buy so much stuff with good intentions and it all gets backburnered...

Interested to see how this turns out with paint and all...might inspire me to get off my lazy a$$ and do up my Slash...

Have you consider a bulkier leg option?...they seem kinda lanky here...

Well... the arms and legs are proportional, so going with anything bulkier would throw it off AND probably limit the range of motion a bit. I want maximum range, so the slightly sleeker look works.

Not that I specified, but I'm not really going for any known look with this. Taking my own direction, as usual. :D

Totally understandable...just curious since I plan to use more monstery proportions on Slash...but that seems more fitting of that particular character...

I've never disassembled a MU figure...do they come apart easily?

I'd go with that too - Slash would just look more appropriate being a little bit more "built". Kinda like Bane to Batman.

MU... yeah, easily enough. Use the plier method on the shoulders, or use nippers to cut along the torso seam (at the rib cage) if you don't need the torso.

So yeah... get on that Slash.

OH...NO... YOU... DI'INT!!!

That's awesome and can't wait to see him finished. I still need to get me a set. How long was the wait on shipping from Angelforge?

What size revoltech joints are those? I've always wanted to order them, but I are dumb and the sizes get me all confuzeded... :(

Lol!...

Hey Obi, you lit a fire under my butt...I pulled out my Slash parts and seeing my recently acquired Venom nearby, I think he'll work out quite well...

EDIT: AngleForge (DarkWynter) is the shit. I've ordered several times in the last few months, and always get my order within 5-6 days. Well packed and tracking #. Highly recommend.

Man... I was thinking the same thing. Here's a shot of another WIP using the Venom arms on a MU Cable. Freakin' HUGE! Pic's a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea of the size -

Excellent recipe, Obi!

Out of curiosity, are you going Mirage or multi-colored with the headbands?

Well, I prefer the Mirage red. Original is the best, imo. Keep in mind though, that I didn't set out to specifically make the 4 turtles. I'm going for more of a "my own thing", but based on the turtles of course. Maybe a lost 5th turtle that went his own way...

Thanks guys!

I couldn't agree with you more. His inventory system is working out nicely for him and I've received my stuff in the same time frame as you and have never had any issues with my orders.

That's cool. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Oops!... almost forgot.

Revoltech joints used -

6 mm ankles
4 mm wrists

Same exact setup I use on my Shocktrooper/SpecOps guys.

"Hi there. Please, no autographs."

Looking great so far. I like this more adult mutant ninja turtle version. The turtles have been teenagers for almost 30 years, it's about time they grew up.

Those revoltech joints work awesome and they don't disrupt the aesthetics like added articulation often does.

Thanks guys. I'm still working with some more paint apps, and I changed the headband tails.

Pic added to 1st.

Looks soooooo cool with the red ninja...you gonna dull coat him...he's quite shiny

It's not that shiny, really. It's actually a coat of "clear yellow", for a wet amphibious tone.

It will look much better once I get the real shots taken.

EDIT: I realize turtles are reptiles, not amphibians. Being around water, or sewer drain water most of the time, would tend to keep your skin moist - I would think. Plus it just looks more... animal.

You know what sucks?

Being done with this custom, but having to wait until the girl gets home to use the camera. She took it to work for her lab friend's dissertation today. Ugh...
