This is my upsized Masterpiece Prime. Everything except the head, hands and joints are scratch built from sheet styrene. He has full articulation- head, shoulders, bicep, hands, waist, hips, knees and feet.
He took one week to put together, and another two-three to paint and detail. His gun attaches to his back with magnets.
All in all I'm really very happy. The only thing I'd change would be the height. At 1:18th he's 36 feet tall. And at 1:12th he's 24 feet tall-- which is where I'd like him to be.

Yer large Prime is my fave...he's looks so perfect...all the details, like the added rivets really make him stand out...

One last time.
I'm making this one 18" so 27' in 1:18th. I think this will nail the height and look I wanted to begin with.
The only tricky part is going to be the head. I need to upsize the MP version by 50%. I'm looking into some 3D print sites, but no luck so far.
In the meantime I'll get the body done.

Anyone ever use a 3d image service? I need to upsize a masterpiece Prime head. I've been looking into it, but wanted to hear some thoughts on it. And maybe pricing.

It's getting easier and easier to scratch build these things for you isn't it?...you seem to be able to throw one of these together in just days...where I'm guessing it would take me months..
I've been using caulk since the HISS Tanks. Sets up fast and holds like glue. Very easy and quick.
The joint pieces look better on the new one...the scale of the figure matches the scale of the joints better I mean

Omis- Great idea, but this will be the scale I continue my Transformers line in- on deck are Megatron, Starscream, Shock Wave Bumblebee and Iron Hide.

Your work is amazing man! I wish I had a 1/18 scale IronHide that transforms...and joes could fit in the cab - that would be AWESOME!!!
All but the one on the right are scratch built.
I think a van is doable to have transform and hold figures.
That said here's the Iron Hide look I'm going for. Non-transforming....

Well since mainly Prime and Megarton are on the taller side I'm going to try and use as much of the Unicron base that I can. Although I still think more will have to be retooled or scratch built.

I can't believe that head is the same one from that lolypop thing. It looks all fat and flat in the lolypop picture, awesome mods and paint job on that. Just for S&Gs, about what are you asking for the 24" figs? I only ask cause I'm doing a huge toy show later this month and they'd be awesome attractions for the table set up.
Here are some finished pics of my 18" Optimus Prime. He's scratch built with Unicron joints and a modded lollipop holder head. For me this the the perfect scale size for 1:18th he would be about 27' tall. He's very durable and 100% play-ready.

The new one looks about perfect...the scale looks much more accurate, especially next to the humvee...

Well with no styrene showing up I decided to redo the windows on Prime. I cut out the old ones. Then added new larger ones sprayed with clear blue. Also, I repainted the frames with a darker silver.
I'm really very happy with the results.
