The only thing that upsets me about the 25th is the lousy detail on most of them and on the rare occasion they did do a figure I wanted I was sure not to find it because of the shoddy distribution.

PoC or GTFO.

the sculpt details on the 25th were actually better than ROC figures. The problem with 25th anniversary was the figures inability to capitalize on new articulation. Can you say "Duke Arms"? That ruined a lot of figures right off the bat. Even the blue shirts had a hard time holding weapons. ROC had less sculpt detail (and sometimes poor paint apps), but had less conflicting sculpts as a result, and therefore were way more flexible and pose-able. POC and 30th Anniversary are like the ultimate combination of both strengths with the exception of a few figures (Low-Lights arms and jacket are too bulky and he's hard to pose with his fall apart rifle. What a let down).

Retaliation is kind of a step backward considering the crummy rocket launchers, gimped vehicle drivers etc but on the other hand some of the figures use perfectly good sculpting and come with cool accessories. I'm personally looking forward to the Night Viper and Crimson Guards figures as well as Jinx, Bruce Willis, Rza from Wu-Tang and maybe a figure of Johnson. Other than that, there is little collector appeal.

Maybe the old fags in the fandom should just let the kids have a chance of getting some toys rather than hording it all for themselves.

I'm dubious about that claim that RoC were less detailed than the 25th.

Not all the 25ths had soft details, but they were certainly the exception and not the rule.

I think they have more sculpting detail is what I mean, like the wrinkles in pants legs and shirts.

Neither one of them was bbi level, though. PoC changed that, but I think we're backpeddling a bit with Retaliation.

I don't think we're backpeddling on anything. The 25th and and POC were good lines either way!! Compared to the shit that's about to come out!! I think Hasbro was short sighted, stupid, didn't set high standards, phoned it in and really didn't give a shit to what they were releasing and how they were releasing the Retaliation line. If the line fails to sell and is discontinued or warms pegs on stores. Hasbro will only have itself to blame!!!!!

if that happens expect Hasbro to say "OH WELL ALL WE NEED TO DO IS CUT ALL ARTICULATION ON ALL FIGURES, PAINT EVERYTHING IN TACKY NEON COLORS, AND STUFF THE BORING PACKAGING WITH MORE SPRING LOADED ROCKET LAUNCHERS TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::proposetoast::proposetoast:"

Indeed.

Unless Revenge of Joe or whatever a post-Retaliation renaissance is called just blows us away.

Wow. I can't say I was really looking forward to the movie, but still, no way is this good news...

http://generalsjoes.com/2012/05/23/...iation-pushed-back-nine-months-to-march-2013/

Yes it is true – G.I. Joe: Retaliation pushed back NINE months to March, 2013

Twelve months of intense excitement and motivation, and in one fell swoop, Paramount has stomped on both Hasbro and G.I. Joe fans with one broad stroke. Citing a desire to convert the film to 3D, Paramount has officially announced that they are pushing back the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation to March 29, 2013. Yes, they apparently made this decision and made this statement just ONE MONTH before the film’s release.

Those early waves of Retaliation figures are definitely going to pegwarm with no movie to generate sales/awareness....

HA! That's gonna' put a fork in it! Enjoy wave one and two! Looks like I'll be getting them at ROSS sooner than expected.

This was a horrible move on their part.

Can anyone hear that noise? It sounds like hundreds of grown men crying. I bet Hasbro and Paramount get some e mails today. I'm gonna' get me some popcorn and watch the show!

The decision alone based on a business standpoint seems insanely stupid at this point. A MONTH OUT? Who the fuck does that? It'd do bounds better in June, during the summer, especially against the shit films that debut in its window. Pushing it a year, especially with all the tie-ins?

Someone's getting fired over this one.

Wait, looks like some bigger movies are coming out in June around the window. I was mistaken. Still, even with Spider-Man, push it back a few weeks. Not a whole 3/4 of a year.

Hah - HT's front page has this news right above this article:
Blu-Ray.com is now listing G. I. Joe: Retaliation for a mid-September release on Blu-Ray.

According to the site, the Home Release of the upcoming movie is to happen on September 18th, 2012. We are yet to hear more info regarding the release.

That makes me giggle. :)

For all the faults of the first film, it still brought in new fans. Fans that I'm sure are...well, were...looking forward to a new installment of the story.

In all seriousness...death of the line.

Definately wont help the line. No Renegades now, no POC, DG figures are still awol. What will I do, what will feed my addiction. Well at least now after I get the few movie figs (if they still out on Monday) I can set my eyes on finishing the 25th and ROC lines without distractions.

I would think at least Wave one would still hit Monday. I don't know, or think Hasbro would get word to all their retail customers to pull the figures.
