That thing right there is actually a 40K thing.. but would actually work for Dust as well... Most of the stuff I pick up looks WW2-ish anyways.. Actually.. there might be another one of those in my pile... it'd probably look good on a Dust base... hmmm...

Here's what I've been working on lately - a bunch of Not-Quite-Rangers and Delta operators for my long-planned Black Hawk Down series of dios.

Yeah, they're not accurate, but I have neither the time nor the money to make them so.

Just trying to find a use for these M200s. Definitely need a less ghetto method of afixing them, and it really makes me wish the Bbi 500 still a 20 dollar item at TrU.

I think it's an original. It reminds me of something you'd see in Shogun Warriors.

I want to say Fogger sent me one. It remains the most useless head sculpt in my parts bin.

I have a sliced and diced GI Joe black Dragon in the works. Converting it to a light troop carrier, similar to a Halo Falcon in concept. Needs lots of putty/sanding/paint/details/work in general. Wife working 16 hr days is really killing the "me" time. Between a full time job and having two kids at home I only have about 20-30 mins a day to work on it. SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW progress.

Hell yeah it is. I figured if anyone could turn that into a useful part it'd be you. I know I had no use for it.

Also, I believe that head was from Baron Karza of Micronauts fame, but I could be wrong...

Affirmative on the Karza ID.

I may be able to do something with it. My custom to-do list is long and parts are short.

Not 1:18 related but it's what I've been working on for the past 2-3 months with the spare time that I've had:

These were my first foray into dry-brushing, doing washes, and using a sealant. After Miked assured me that he never had an issue with Testors Dullcote causing the soft plastic to become tacky, which I've read can happen, I gave it a shot. The results are amazing, as I none of the soft plastics turned out tacky.

The only thing left to do is their weapons. I had Leo, Raph, and Donnie's weapons painted and sealed, but the paint still came off of the hilts when I placed them in their hands. So, I'm going to have to redo them. I think I'm going to use Testors semi-gloss sealant on the weapons b/c it seems to be stronger and more durable than their dullcote. I used the semi-gloss on the blades of Leo and Raph's weapons and none of the paint came off when putting the swords in their sheaths, when putting the sais in their "holsters".

Nice job with the washes...looks very NECA inspired...and I too can attest to the awesomeness of testors dullcoat on all toy plastics...it's the best!...pricey, but worth it...

Thanks, guys!

I've actually repainted Donatello's headband to be a darker purple since I took these pictures. I'll take more pics once I get their weapons finished.

Got a light tent for Christmas, playing around with it. Took some pictures of old customs.

This is what's on my bench at the moment...

Still working on him, he just feels like he needs something. I'm going to be painting the arms, they are 'factory' plastic and just look bland... I'm also going to add some tattoos and some weathering, and I have some weapons... but he's missing something.

Maybe something above his shoulders off the side of his torso armor? Or even a backback that is visible to fill that void. To me that is the only thing I can see. Dont get me wrong, looks great as is.

Well I'm trying to keep it as close to the Gears of War game look as possible, since it will be posted to eBay... I don't think those GoW guys wear shoulder pads. I agree that they would probably make him look better, and I played with the thought of adding some, even fit a few pair to see what they looked like, but... not sure about adding them.

THose single rear pylon mounts must go to the rear dmaper assembly somehow on the real 500. It's the only hard point I can think of back there. Must bounce around a lot with all the weight suspended out that far. I'm surprised they didn't use the three hard points along the upper dog house, the triangle bulk head mount and the flight step mount below the rear door.

I think they're actually supposed to mount lower on the airframe. I know the TOW mounts on the IDF ones canted up as opposed to coming straight out of the fuselage.

I just have a question maybe some of you could help with.

I found at my local hobby store a plastic model kit of a modern day 4 door Toyota Landcruiser in 1/24 scale.

I've been wanting an L C for a long time to use for my SpecOp team or SAD team.

You think 1/24 will look to big for JOEs?

Too small actually. 1:18th is Joe scale 1:16th will fit figures inside it.
If you have some felxiblity with scale I'd suggest looking at RC cars., to find what you are looking for.
