That doesn't reallu prove anything. He could have bought that on eBay and then bought those other items in the store and took the picture at home. The picture either needs to be zoomed out to show the pegs or we need a receipt. Then I will believe it. I'm not one to normally scream "Fake!", but only $4.99 and being sold in a new store both seem odd to me. Plus my hopefully thinking since the nearest Marshall's is 100 miles away. If it does turn out to be Marshall's then I really hope it's also TJ Maxx because I have at least a few of those nearby.

I don't think they were ever intended to be solely "Dollar General" Joes, they just wound up there due to lack of interest or bad distribution, which is Hasbro's MO these days. It looks like Hasbro may have found a new venue for the 2nd "wave" of repaints.

Marshalls/TJ Maxx is a closeout operation. They don't get stuff from Hasbro directly.
That means whichever store was going to put these out sold them to TJX instead.
For example: Marvel Universe Dark Galactus variant was supposed to go to say Walmart. However Walmart decided they don't want them anymore. Then they sell them to the closeout purchasers TJX, Ross, Big Lots etc.

I am going to speculate Family Dollar messed up somewhere and couldn't get these out for Xmas. So whoever is in charge said let's just dump these to someone else.

I have a Marshalls 5 minutes away from me!!! :D

I have a couple TJ Maxx close by...I hope they get them...I was able to eventually get plenty of what I wanted for wave 1 at DG...I hope they have wave 2 as well...

I had to check the phone book, and the nearest Marshalls is too far away for a slight chance of scoring Joes.

I'm starting to doubt that they will show up in Dollar General now. Obviously they have no faith in its potential selling power, otherwise why send these figures off to Marshall;s?

Sigh...my area used to be nice...then the cockroaches spread out of the hood and are slowly creeping closer and closer to us...stupid housing market crash making my once nice city affordable to scum and people who have no respect for ANYTHING...:(

I wonder how large the production was on the first set. My local DG has set out their 6th set. I finally beat the other guy to the Trooper. I left the Storm Shadow though so at least he'll be able to get that one.

Hit my closest marshalls today, and surprise surprise, there was jack shit, unless you count some fisher price toys and a couple of bayformers from two movies ago, all of which looked like they had been run over by a forklift.

You guys must have a different class of marshalls than we do. Mine just sells clothes that k-mart shoppers wouldn't be seen in, and lots and lots of cheap off-brand pantyhose. That's it. I'm ashamed to even set foot in the store.

I've seen at least 7 sets at the DG by me. I checked again today and there weren't any Joe figs at all. Nothing at the Marshalls I checked either.
