Who is that larger dark-colored figure on the left? I thought I had seen pretty much all the 3P releases, but that one has escaped me... I like it!
EDIT: it almost looks like a modified SteelCore. A new release/repaint perhaps?

But I do have one question. They state that FeralRex is 12.5" tall, but they've said multiple times that Herc will look up to him. I thought Herc was taller than that. Eddie?

Exactly...Mobine I think he is called IIRC...
Herc is actually 12 3/4 to the top of his head...taller if you count to the top his shoulders in various configurations...
Maybe the reconfigured form is shorter somehow?...either way, he looks extremely cool...sure will be a beautiful combiner for fans once completed...

I normally check the 3P section a couple of times a day... so that's why I was surprised to see something that slipped by me.

I like the figure, and I'll probably get one. However, it strikes me as odd that a 3P masterpiece figure will actually be significantly smaller than it's G1 counterpart. Original shockwave was nearly a foot tall. So what this figure actually offers is better leg articulation. Otherwise, the original is pretty "masterpiece" all by itself.
Is it me, or is his gun forearm backwards? The cord usually comes out of the bottom and goes to the back. It looks silly coming out the top and going over his shoulder. I hope that the arm works properly if I turn it around... b/c I'm not going to leave it like that picture, even if I have to cut it off and modify it.
That's got to be backwards. It just looks bad, regardless of accuracy. Hopefully you can flip it around?

Is this a $30 waste of money? I considered buying it before they're impossible to find. I'm assuming it'd fit in MP Soundwave if the G1 cassettes are supposed to.
I'm hoping Soundwave ships on Monday morning, it's been in the goddamn BBTS "warehouse" since Wednesday. As much as I love the POL function, they need to ship that shit when you actually want it shipped, not wait half a week.

I've looked at that several times and I haven't pulled the trigger either. It just seems like a lot of money for one little thing that pays homage to a 3 second clip of a thirty year old episode...

Oh I definitely want more... But since they redid the scale, Megatron is the only one really out of scale still, as far as gigantic scale differences go.
They also need to do a proper Ultra-Magnus, but after doing 4 cars in a row, they need to do another Decepticon. Then, they can do UM, Galvatron, Shockwave and all the others. I'll keep buying the bastards. I just want a Megatron first so the collection looks right together.

I don't know...a UM that all these new cars could be hauled on seems pretty necessary right about now 
As far as Autobots go, I want UM the most. He's the last big leader we need from the old toon. For Decepticons, we still have a V2 Megs, Galvatron and Shockwave.
After that, I really hope they tackle Ironhide/Ratchet, Bee/Cliff, and Jazz. In no particular order, I want them all just as bad. Decepticons I'd like to see them get creative with and surprise us.

I want a good Jetfire more than any other figure...even more than MP combiners...though how bada$$ would MP combiners be...imagine a Menasor with the cars the same scale as the Autobot cars...BOOONERRRRRRR!!!
Personally, I hope they don't do IH, Ratchet and BB simply because the 3P versions are so good, I would prefer they use the slot for a character than needs some love...

Really, I'll buy almost any MP so long as it's good. Official or otherwise, just likely whoever does it first. If there's an official one that's better, I'll buy that one too.
Jetfire is low on my list though. There are much more important characters to come before him. Also, he'd need to be huge, and I don't think he'd be the right size by any measure. Which is why I think official Combiner MPs won't happen, or at least won't be the right scale. Hercules is as close as I think we'll get anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm not saying I won't buy Megatron v2 (not to be confused with that hideous green tank they trotted out in the 90's...), but I want it to be damn good, as I feel the first attempt was somewhat lacking.

Well, I'm wondering if they were waiting to figure out the slot of MP-19 being for Bluestreak, because it's not a surprise we'd be getting him. It's an easy-as-shit repaint, and everyone wants him (probably not as much as the other 2 Zs, but almost), and just said "fuck it" and went ahead and released him. MP-20 being a v2 Megatron makes sense, if you're going to complement MP-10 being a v2 Optimus. It's a good round number, right?
You really think Bluestreak is the least desirable of the z-cars? I would put him at the top of the three... Prowl is the one that gets the most screen/panel time in the media, but he's never a likable character... and Smokescreen is a C-lister at best.

I always liked Smokescreen due to the racing deco, and Prowl due to the cop deco as a kid. Visually, Bluestreak is the least appealing.

A shame they could do all that other engineering and not figure that out! I can't recall but how did the original work? I never had Megs or Soundwave as a kid, but I did have Shockwave as my senior baddie. His laser was broken at some point and reglued but aside from that, he was still in working condition until the dreaded fire of 08.

Oh, and what they did to beef up the legs and retain the laser cover/coupling but as a backpack were fucking genius.
The original had the tube going to the underside of the forearm. Not sure why they went with that odd-looking design change.
Actually, I looked into availability, and we nearly missed the boat. BBTS is not carrying him. The only US distribution is coming from Captured Prey (sounds like it should be the nickname of the Joe Collector's Club). There are two runs of release (supposedly identical). The first run already sold out (and shipping soon), and CP is now taking orders on the second run, due ~ March/April.

Captured Prey is a great site...the guy that runs the store is very active on TFW...they always have better pricing than BBTS and TFS...he ships super fast and packs very well...the downside is, sometimes it takes him longer to get stuff than the other NA sites...but he's my go to guy now if RK isn't carrying what I want since their prices always beat all even with their international shipping

I almost did, but I only have $120 in my Paypal account (from previous deposits) and I don't have enough to cover it in the attached checking account (it's an old account that I've been using JUST for Paypal and transferring money to/from my parents since it's an old college account, so I only keep a minimum in it) and I figured my CC will get compromised elsewhere anyways, so why the fuck not.
It did have a https:// server though, so maybe the SSL certificate was just not listing right. I dunno. Sigh.
I never keep money in my paypal account. I just use a card via paypal for security reasons. The Joe club taught me to be wary...
