Maybe now we can get that vintage-boxed Slave-I they talked about last summer...

Clearly they're trying not to shoot their whole wad in the first round. Pilot Luke? That's about the 5th best Luke deco, so it says they probably have 2-3 years worth of waves already planned out. But with a franchise the size of SW, now with the backing of disney and a couple of major films planned for the next couple of years, the sky is the limit for these guys.

I've always been a bigger fan of 4" scale, but considering the number of ML, DCUC, and MOTUC I've accumulated, I have a hard time saying that I won't be loving the hell out of these.... at least the OT figures. I've got less than zero interest in Maul, Windu, or the Midichloriate Kid.

Rumors are flying that a Boba Fett will be an SDCC exclusive.

If they do the ESB outfit I think people might be a bit upset...as that's the most iconic version.

How long before we get Ice Cream maker man? :D

The original article said that it was going to focus on main characters and not cater to the people that want the cantina alien third from the left... They're trying to get new collectors, i.e. dad's our age who don't necessarily collect toys now. So I suspect that ICM will be circa 2027...

If they want to make BF a convention figure, that's fine.... as long as they make a million extras. If they make him impossible to get, it might simply piss off enough people before the regular line hits retail. It could kneecap the whole endeavor if they make people mad enough up front before they get invested in the line.

They should at least wait until we're good and hooked before intentionally pissing us off. It's just good manners.

I dunno, for all the time he had on film BF SHOULD be a con figure. Unfortunately he is just waaaay too popular to pull that with. Jango Fett, sure, but Boba would cause a shitstorm of epic proportions.

Well, like I said...if they do the ESB outfit as an exclusive, that'll anger people...especially if/when they do the ROTJ/SE version in the regular line. People waited years for a 3.75 version of the ESB and when they got it, they got kicked in the shin with the Jango head under the helmet.

And, it's just good manners? It's just good manners to give a reach around when fucking someone, but Hasbro rarely does that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't Boba Fett look like Jango under the helmet? He's a clone of Jango, right? What was he supposed to look like under there?

shh, don't tell fanboys that. They still believe boba is his own entity and can't grasp that fact. No wonder Lucas hated the character what with all the shit storm he received over him dying in Jedi.

Way too much was focused on that ONE character by the fans they overlooked the other items of the movie. Hell jango had a better fight scene and he didn't receive as much attention.

Well yes...but why does he need a removable helmet at all. He doesn't take it off in any of his 30 seconds of screen time.

It's not that fanboys can't 'grasp that fact' it's the Lucas took such a shit way out on explaining a character that really didn't need the explanation. Replace the name Jango with Boba in AOTC and say he was 'altered' by the Kaminoians and you have something that's better that what was given.

The whole clone thing sucked.

it only makes sense for troopers and such as to explain how they were all the same size. But the story of cloning jango was a cop out.

I agree about boba's background, should have left him as a mysterious bounty hunter and leave it at that. Hell, if Jango and Zam would have had a love child, that would be a bit different, but cloning?

Why would people complain about a removable helmet? If they don't like it, don't take it off... or friggin glue it on. Do they stay awake at night knowing that a Jango face is under there? I agree that his origin sucks donkey balls, but I guess I don't let that interfere with my fun. The dude has a face... I ignore all the prequel stuff anyway.

"The Clone Wars" were FAR more interesting when they were just this unexplained concept from the past mentioned by Leia. Even in the EU books by Zahn and others, the clone wars were explained here and there but not in such detail that it lost an aura of mystery. Knowing about Jango, Geonosis, and the fact that half the Stormtroopers in the galaxy probably have Jango's face too just make me hate the prequels even more. I simply have to ignore that shit to enjoy the rest of the franchise.

People complain about the removable helmet because it was executed like shit. It's too small for the head, and looks like a re-hydrated raisin when on. Why is it too hard to just make swappable heads in a situation like this?

Went to Target yesterday and Vintage Collection stuff is on clearance for like $6.something.

Terrible movie with "vintage" figures that never actually came on black cards. The whole line is based on nostalgia, and it's tough to have nostalgia for something that didn't exist back when, and it sucked when it finally arrived.

I wouldn't even take them for fodder. At least the move to the "black series" is different enough that TPM figres won't cock-block the pegs anymore.

So..... vintage X-wing, Slave I, and TIE Advanced. Plus more ewoks and a scanning crew. Not bad for a line that was supposedly dead!

Now, if they could schedule an A-wing, TIE Bomber and Vader's TIE, we'll have all the major small spacecraft in the vintage line... maybe an imperia shuttle, but the OTC box is nearly vintage looking anyway.

Absolutely, Nacho.

Looking forward to the scanning crew and TIE Advanced. Have a Luke X-Wing from the TRU release, and also have the Wedge X-Wing from Target. What does the new X-Wing release entail?

Do you have photos of these from NY Toy Fair over the past weekend?

Thanks.

Anything less then Joe articulation in the Black line makes the whole proposition fairly pointless.

Well, the Black Series will be the 'Collector' line, and will continue with the same amount of articulation that was present in TVC. This is from DDP when asked by a Banthaskull rep.

Of course...what does he know?

I saw a lot of vintage collection figures at Wal-Mart today. They even had Ayla Secura and an Arc Trooper Commander. I got Nom Anor and the Gamorrean Guard because I figured they might be kind of rare. How much are they worth? Should I keep them in the box? Because If they're worth something I want to sell them along with some of the rest of my Star Wars crap so I can afford both space and money for new G.I. Joes.

Agreed KT, as I was just starting to get into SW figs again because they had more and more figures with non-t-crotch hips. Now they're back-tracking in a major way.

But the other way I look at it, if they never made a decent SW figure ever again, I have enough to entertain me and my kids for several lifetimes. So I question buying more anyway. I simply refuse to get riled up, no matter what asinine crap hasbro pulls. (I swear, it's like they are trying to imitate Mattel, when it should have been the other way around.)

The Gam Guard pulls in a hefty $15 now....thanks to that restock.

Nom...probably about the same.
