So I bought a Princess Leia from Chine as fodder. She had a mid torso joint and Joe style arms so I figured I could part her out for customs....NOPE. She is tiny.

Nice!

Am still holding out hope for a Vintage comeback in a few years once the Original Trilogy gets theatrical releases. Would like to see the Imperial Shuttle get a re-do, as well as Snowtrooper with cannon/power box, Death Star Officer and more Rebel Pilots/Soldiers. Where is the bearded guy who briefed the Rebels in ROTJ? Or how about the Rebel General in charge at Hoth? How about the guy with the headset who works for Lando at Cloud City? Would be nice to see that kind of thing again in modern form, and in vintage packing.

As I understand it, the Vintage carded figures are pretty much done for now.

According to Big-H, they are "continuing" the vintage line in the black series, which by all accounts looks completely different. WTF. I think the only similarity is that they will retain the high articulation seen in the vintage line rather than reverting to the 5-POA crap they are pushing in the other SW lines. Those things are a travesty.

I know I'll be buying less because I bought a minimum of two each of the original trilogy vintage-card figures, one to display and one for my kids. Since the black series packaging is so uninspired and doesn't fit at all with all the vintage cards, I'll be getting one at most.

I have been a huge Star Wars fan for years and I would love to buy more stuff, but since the Big H seems to want to make the stuff next to impossible to get and is really not offering anything interesting I guess I can save my money. To me the "black series" is just a gimmick to sell more of the same old figures in new packages. About the only thing they mentioned for this year that really interest me are the Kmart 2 parks of the Imperial Scanning Crew and Ewoks with Catapult.

I don't mind the black series if they are giving us something new, a new sculpt, a better paint job, interesting accessories (like the ESB vader in the 1st wave). And I'm really stoked about the 6" line. I think that will be fun as hell.

But the problem lies in the fact that retailers (read WM) want something different for the shelves, and the root of that issue is the stagnant, rotting, prequel "vintage" figures that no one wanted in the first place. Those things don't sell, and so it soured the retailers on the whole vintage card line.

It makes me sad, because there were a lot of OT figures we still needed to get on the vintage cardbacks. I have hope that they'll return to it after a couple of years, much like they did after the first couple of attempts during the 30th, Saga, VOTC, etc. The retailers just need to get the bad taste of the prequel pegwarmers out of their collective mouth for a bit.

I think that a lot is going to depend on what the Giant Mouse who now owns Star Wars wants to do. Disney seem to really like to keep banging out the same general characters for their properties over and over again. I mean they have let Marvel keep on ticking, but in my opinion the figure selection from all the Marvel movies is mostly piss poor. I will never understand how you can do three Iron Man movies and not make 1 Tony Stark or Pepper Potts figure. I fear that we many go down the same road with Star Wars.

Anyone know if there's a skull in that helmet on the "Don't Taze Me, Bro!" Darth Vader?

Looks like there is. I'd assume it has been pulled and cast, and that I've seen it and just not recognized it for what it is?

There will be a single carded Fett coming in the next few waves...but no carbonite Han.

Oh so do I...but the question is...when will she hit now. They are trying to focus on the 6" line for now, but sill have the Black Series 3.75" line going as well. We will find out at SDCC...I hope.

Could probably get a Joe pelvis on there. There's no salvaging Mara's thighs, but the lowers could be mated to a Joe thigh.

I love how people are so put off by the crotch on these like it's a new thing. Star Wars is the originator of the T crotch. It doesn't hamper the displayability of them.

I haven't customized a Star Wars figure in a long while now...so it's a moot point for me.
