To be honest, I never transformed Soundwave, Shockwave, or Rodimus and I've had Rodimus since the V1 was released... I'll likely transform Shockwave after I replace his arm.

Which, btw, I got the arm parts in the mail while I was at SDCC. Did you guys who ordered the 3rd party Shockwave get the arm kit to convert the cable?

Yep, mine came with my order along with the solid hands. (3rd run via Captured Prey)

I think I got the 2nd run... I had the hands shipped separately a few months back, too. Question, which hands did you use? I kind of like the transparent gun arm, not sure about the hand, but it looks odd with mixed, and I don't like the gun arm solid...

I gotta find those, btw. I have no idea where I put them when I cleaned up my nerd room mess a few months back. Grr. Guess I should track them down and put them with the arm before I lose those parts.

Yeah MR, I got gun parts a month after the figure shipped, and then a couple of weeks ago I got some extra parts. I had to look at the box to see where they came from and scour the internet to see what I was supposed to use them for. A little instruction would have been nice, but I do give CP props for sending this stuff out long after the sale. There are quite a few etailers that wouldn't bother.

Mine is still default, meaning the clear hands and static hose-on-top arm. I'm probably never going to add the batteries, so I should probably just switch out the arm. The hand would probably look better in the solid, the gun I'm probably going to leave clear. It's not like they match even if they're the same color.

According to the booklet for MP-01, bot mode was about 1:20 scale. I've always thought alt mode was a bit on the small side compared to Bin/Alts (I wasn't alone IIRC), so I had guesstimated somewhere between 1:26 and 1:32.

Ok, the not knowing was bugging me, so I looked up a Kenworth K100, which even if it isn't the exact truck G1 OP is based on, it's close enough in style for guessing purposes. One of the only measurements not listed as "optional" in the specs was cab height, which is 85". MP-01 measures about 3". 3" at 1:28 represents 84". So it's pretty close to 1:28 in alt mode.

Playing around with my new light tent so I figured I'd show you how it looks mixed.



As you can see, I put the alternate arm on and underslung the hose. Thoughts: the rotating assembly is TIGHT. It also stress-marked at both of the front screw holes. There's not a lot of plastic there.

On a different note, if anyone has Soundwave and the cassettes, get these. I'm not kidding.

God, why is Amazon so worthless anymore? Between eBay and Amazon, the only thing I buy anymore are Blu-Rays when they go on sale. Anything collectible-wise is expensive as fuck.

In other news, I finally got MW-05 from I-Gear (Cogz, AKA G1 Gears). Really cool robot, but super tight joints. I was afraid I might break him in half while transforming him into robot mode, but he's super cool.

Also now have Fortress Maximus via BBTS. Just waiting for MP Metroplex to get into circulation!

Yep, that's where I got mine. The only thing I don't like about them is you have to pay up front for preorders, and they don't yet have a combine-orders-to-save-on-shipping feature. But they're small so it's kind of expected. Service and packing is top-notch, too.

Either their site is fucked up, or it sold out immediately. I was able to add it to my cart, then viewing the cart said it was "limited" and that the quantity had been adjusted.

Dumbasses, TRU is on par with HTS as far as a clusterfuck goes.

This has been happeening all week. They put up a handful at a time, everyone adds at once, a bunch of people get stuff "stolen" from their cart, add to cart button lags for a few minutes. Much angst follows.

So I just got the Fans Toys edition of "Quakewave," or as I refer to him as Masterpiece Shockwave.

Ho-lee Shit...

This is a work of art.

I have been waiting for Shockwave to be re-released for so many years now, and I honestly don't know how Hasbro/Takara could top this release.

As a side note, I love hearing the clinking of metal/springs as I move his arms around.

Simply an amazing robot!

Yeah, I was sad to lose my own vintage one from childhood about 6 years back. It had been broken as a child, so it wasn't in perfect condition, but it was one of the better TFs from that era, and it had diecast and felt substantial in your hands... Besides the feet not being 100% perfect, I think that they did a damn good job. Until HasTak can put out an official one (that is, IF they can) he's a perfect stand-in. I was glad to be able to "replace" my lost vintage one with one that was so much better.

Yep, mine arrived today. Basically, Amazon slapped a bunch of labels, tape and paraphernalia all over the Kenner box and shoved it out the door.

Really cheap and shitty of them to do this to me.

Amazon exclusive of a modern retooling in vintage style packaging. Amazon has pissed off lots of people, but they're working on fixing it. That's little consolation to those who got jacked-up toys and now have to jump through hoops to get replacements, but it's better than other retailers, most of whom would be less than willing to own such a problem.
